He was an excellent teacher. I took notes, studied hard throughout the semester so I had time to clarify difficult areas with him &he was very helpful when I asked questions because I think he realized that I am actually putting effort to learn Some people just did zero studying&expected to pass which is ironic. I love organic chemistry bcs of him!

Comment:

Past on the first try with a C-. Most difficult class I have ever taken. Study as much as you can for this class and get extra help when you don't understand things. You could probably survive without the textbook as long as you see Jensen outside of class. He is very quiet-- sit in the front of the room to hear. Takes attendance occasionally.

Jensen is amazing, key is listen carefully and discuss with him when u have questions! True gentleman and a great professor. Doesn't expect to get students to like him by cracking stupid jokes. Love his teaching. He covers everything like a pro. It's our job to study & learn. Professors are not there to make us pass. Make an effort & u'll get an A

Dr. Jensen is a remarkable professor. If u r a keen student u can have a real learning experience from him. Remember, professors r not there to entertain u and make u laugh and keep u awake. Go there & learn. Study. That's how u get an A. Not by taking tests that mirror homework. He is a man of character. Very inspirational

.I don't think his mind works like the rest of us. His exams are on very specific details that most would pass over as inconsequential to the material studied. He does not give back lab exams and refuses to help if you have questions, stating "All the lab talks were given in their respective labs" when asked. He is kind of terrible, avoid him!

His tests revolve around nit-pick details (watch out). His online assignments are misleading, do not focus on just the online assignments (25% of info). The study guides that he gives to you are the real information you need to know for the tests. His voice is very calm all the time so it makes it extremely hard to pay attention in class.

Yes, Organic Chemistry IS difficult, and so are his exams. Bruce is a fantastic professor and educator. He is always willing to help. Take advantage of his office hours, prepare in advance, and you will do fine on his exams. His lectures are 100% digestible if you follow along and pay attention. The lab is pointless though. Hated the lab!

Dr. Jensen has very difficult exams. He is a nice enough guy if you go to see him in his office, but his lectures are rather dry. I spent MANY hours studying from the textbook which saved me.

HORRIBLE!!!!! Averages in the 60's and he just points out that a couple people got in the nineties...like that matters when the rest of the class is failing. People have literally cried during his tests but the thing is, even if you take Fort, you still get stuck with jensen for lab tests and for the second half of orgo...no way around it

Dr Jensen is a fantastic educator! He is truly a gifted teacher and has the ability and patience to simplify everything. He is wonderfully helpful during office hours and welcomes questions. This was unquestionably one of the best Chemistry classes I have attended. Highly recommend his classes.

Excellent and thorough teacher. You will only need clarification, never questions. However, its true. His tests are very tough and require a bit of studying. The class is not as hard as everyone makes it out to be, just requires an ample amount of studying.

Comment:

Probably the most useless and painful lab I have taken. Absolutely no skills learned in the field, and while it would really take some effort to fail (you get 150 out of 500 points by showing up)it is incredibly onerous and time consuming. The concepts Jensen seems to prize are outdated and he doesn't correlate anything with the other ochem class.
