Makes no sense and contradicts herself. Has no idea how to teach or how to properly/fairly grade her students. Not a bad person, just a bad prof (but great musician outside of the classroom).

Comment:

She is very kind, and is often willing to help through means of her TAs, but her lectures are confusing. She just hums intervals and melodies to herself and expects the class to know what she is talking about. It is difficult to follow if you don't have a great aural skills background. She is not very encouraging, but does care about her students.

no no no no and NO! Do not, if any way possible, take her course. Brutal. The subject wouldn't be hard if there was another prof teaching it. It is VERY painful to sit through 50 mins with her. And like the others said,she is NOT in anyway helpful during performance tests.Very scary actually and intimidating for a first year student,or ANY student!

Worst class ever! She has this horrible fake smile and she talks to us like we're all five years old. I did fine on the singing tests, but I hated the listening tests. Anytime we had to dictate something she sang or clapped, it was impossible. When she sang, she went off key; when she clapped, she clapped a different rhythm every time.

Class was pretty relaxed, but sometimes her nervourness made me nervous. I always felt worried that she was going to mess up and feel humiliated. A clear teacher, but class progressed really really really slowly. Missed more classes than I usually do and still got an A. Prepare for performance tests

An insecure teacher! She is easily manipulated by her class and you can see it in her face. Tolerates chatting and inattention from the class making it hard to pay attention. Not very helpful, although gives you a fake smile the entire time. A nice lady as a person, not a great prof.

sketchy lady. She somehow makes sightsinging NOT fun. She talks like she is teaching a 2 year old. She is nice though...Nervous laugh and smile...kinda funky

I agree, I've aproached her for help and she wouldn't give any. She doesn't seem to understand that not everyone is a singer! it makes the class that much harder to sit through when she expects that you can all sing perfect pitch!

Nervous at times, but much better in upper levels then in lower. I had her for three courses, and each one got better.
