Anything I did wrong, he would absolutely bash me for.... HELLO, I'm in the class to LEARN... to become a better writer.. If I was Robert Frost, I wouldn't be in the class. He gives you comments on your writing and he is very sarcastic, not caring or helpful, rude and mean. He uses your weaknesses as a writer for a smear campaign at your expense.

The class was a WRITING class and we didn't write anything. When you send in homework assignments via email, expecting feedback, your reply is "thanks" or "Ok". I give this professor an F!!!

Tough, but fair. He is very old school, and his feedback is valuable. There are six short papers, but every word matters. Almost no one can get the first draft right, so he gives a chance to rewrite it twice afterwards. Pay attention to his feedback, he is very clear on what is expected. He totally teaches how to become a better writer

There should be work outlines, and more guiding through the work process instead of always referring to an example in the book written by professional critics. I felt like I was being graded as a professional critic and did not feel any support or help from the professor. He's funny, but that's it. This class was a terrible struggle.

I don't know why the journalism department asked him to teach a journalism course because his class has nothing to do with journalism. His classes are aggressively boring and useless to any aspect of higher education. As a professor he is rude, and he intentionally leaves nasty comments on students paper. This professor is clueless.

Second time taking him. If you take him you will def improve your writing. NOT a hard professor. Just don't get lazy when writing your papers. (Which he gives you a chance to revise). Very fair

Took him for film class, got an A. 4 essays, I got terrible grades on the first few. He will make you feel bad with his comments, but dont take it personally. My experience is, just follow his comments (mostly grammatical stuff) and youll get an A on the essay for the rewrite. Jokes once in a while, very old school guy. Fair grader.

He isn't that bad. I got an A- in the class but that's cause I re-wrote the essays. The first grade is always bad, but if you re-write them you will get at least a B+. He never re-uses the reading material so it's almost impossible to re-sell. He is boring though. Showed a lot of videos that put me to sleep, really hard to stay awake in class

This professor is a tough grader but lets you rewrite the essays up to three times. He is very specific on what he wants, his criticism is extremely helpful. He also likes so show documentaries for almost half the class. Take him if you want to work hard and learn.

Not the best professor I had... He is alright. He uses a bunch of books and some books that he wrote. The grading system is somewhat fair. Extremely boring... well let's just say he is the only one talking and most people end up sleeping.Take him if you can't find any other good Professor.

I'm not going to lie... Professor Rollyson is a tough cookie. However, he is VERY intelligent and knowledgeable. At the end of the semester, you will walk away with a higher appreciation for great works of literature and also how to write a great paper! Do the blogs... they can definitely help you out! He gives you fair chances, take them!!!

Attendance is a must for his film class, and you must also purchase his books because you'll use them alot. A few journal entries about each film and 2 papers. He isn't an easy grader, but he will definitely give a much better grade if you just revise your paper and put in some effort and speak up in class!

I had this professor for English my freshmen year. He taught the class how to write properly. Although his grading might seem a bit harsh, he is determined in preparing his students for the future. His swearing keeps the class awake with laughter

Pretty good English professor! There are blog entries (easy points!), 2 essays and 1 research paper. He is a hard grader, but once you understand what he wants (revisions are very detailed) then you will get an easy A. You need to be on time and bring the books required. Overall, I enjoyed the class and would consider his FILM class.
