Sadly Dr. Wigal is the only professor for enme 1850. If you do not have to take this class.. DONT. She is a tough grader and grades stuff way late in the semester so its really hard to tell what your grade will be. She is a nice person but a terrible professor..

This course I took under Dr. Wigal was AWFUL. I hated every minute I was there and never wanted to go. In this course, she didn't even plan weekly lessons; instead, she made each person in the teach one day of the course. Furthermore, she does not make her expectations clear and will not tell you something has been done incorrectly until she grades

I have not ever met a person more indicative of a misplaced kindergarten teacher. There was nothing useful in her lectures, nothing of substance in her assignments. As best I can tell, she has no understanding of the actual processes used by large scale organizations. In the event that you have the option of taking a class with her, avoid doing so.

avoid if possible, very concerned about the exactly precise correctness of your answer when asking vague ambiguous questions. your attendance is mandatory but she will try to make most of the classes. assumes your ignorance for her conveniences.

She is a fantastic professor, but you have to work hard. Yes her class is just a few credits but you need them. If you pay attention in class and to her feedback on your work you will do well in the class. Technical writing is a big part of what she does- she teaches you what you will need in the future. Come to class, pay attention and good luck!

Yes, there is a large work load. It's engineering, it's going to be hard. Dr. Wigal is an extremely tough grader, but she only wants to help you succeed. She is super nice, though. This class is the one that will determine if you can succeed as an engineer. Go in with an open mind, and you will get out of this class what you put into it.

Dr Wigal is a professor is a nightmare. I think from what I hear she has changed he lecture style somewhat, but she requires so much attention to her class you start to suffer in your other ENGR classes. Even considering the class is not worth the same amount of credits. As a person outside of the class and if you need help, she is wonderful.

Terrible busy work class. By the time freshmen have to do their senior design project they have forgot all the useless knowledge of this class. Professor takes pride in having the "infamous Wigal class". The only positive is that girls do get better grades (even an A) by putting forth half the effort of the guys.

The people who don't like her aren't used to having their writing critiqued. If you write well and do what she says your grades won't suffer. Sure, the design process can be intensive but it's rewarding and relevant. If you have an open mind and want to learn you'll like Wigal just fine.

This class was wayyyyy too much work for a 2 hour credit course. She is a hypocrite when grading because she teaches us the material, and we do the exact same thing on the reports and she takes so many points off. She is an awful teacher who should not teach this course.

This class is a two hour class but you spend about 50 hours a week on it. The assignments are not particularly hard but they are very time consuming. She is a very tough grader and knows exactly what she wants and if you do not put it down do not expect an A. She does give a lot of B's so expect to get that.

AHHHH! That basically sums up the class. It's a 2 hr credit, and it may as well be considered 20 hr credit with the amount of time you put into this class. She isn't clear on what she wants, and she grades our reports (Mine was over 20 pages) like we're seniors. It's a FRESHMAN level class. I don't think she gets it.

Wigal is a terrible teacher. The assignments she assigns could be quick, interesting, and easy although she does not know the Solidworks program herself which makes it much harder. I feel like the class would be fun and easy if it were taught by anyone else. Stay away.

Her class could have been very easy. None of the assignments would have been particularly difficult if she were ever clear on what she actually wanted you to do or if she were ever willing to help students. She's not very helpful in or out of the classroom. She says do one thing and often takes points off for things she never asked you to do.

she is a very fun professor to have. she brings in music to listen to while you working on the solid works assignments and is very helpful when you ask her a question about how to do a particular feature on solid works. she allows you to turn in the assignments up to the day of the final...for a 4.0 maximum grade on a 0-5.0 grading scale.
