Comment:

One of the most inspirational professors you will ever have. If the subject matter isn't your bag, then public law will not interest you. You could have Steve Carrell deliver it and you still wouldn't like it. Dr. Jaekl is passionate about the subject matter, easy to talk to, and hugely supportive. A legend.

Comment:

Really nice professor, with an interesting sense of humour at times. He has a very thick accent, so at times he is difficult to understand, but he makes really detailed notes and posts them on the net for his students, so you don't have to really keep up with the readings all the time. Definitely an expert in public and administrative law!

This prof is extremely intelligent. If you are not interested in what he teaches, don't take his class as you will be bored to death and fail miserably. If his subject interests you, he's probably the best teacher you could get. EXTREMELY knowledgeable in the field of public law. I liked his accent and odd dry sense of humor too.

Comment:

He was a bit odd, and some may have problems following what he said (I didn't find it a big issue). He defiantly knew what he was talking about, and had great knowledge on the subject. Very easy marker, basically gave us every question that would be on the exam (it was MC!). Based all off power point, so reading the boring book wasn't necessary.

I found that he has this pompus attitude he thinks that he is SOOO much better than you and that everyone in his class wants to be a lawyer! grrrrrr i dont like him!

His voice and intonation are so distracting! I wouldn't take the CUTV section again because he's pretty boring most of the time, and it's even harder to stay awake when you're curled up on your couch. I thought I blew the assignments, but they weren't too bad and neither was the exam. Go to class and if not, at least try to get through the readings

This professor wasnt terrible.ya, his classes did make you want to sleep. class seems unnecessary considering he posts all of his lecture notes.. he does have an attendence sheet. He wasnt extremely helpful and doesnt quite get to the point but he means well and i'm sure he'd help you if you asked!

A funny and quirky guy. A tad bit patronizing, but fair. Really hard to stay awake if you are watching his lectures on CUTV. Other than that, the assignment was doable and the multiple-choice exam was straight from his powerpoint lecture notes, and I was able to do pretty well, even though I missed a few lectures.

I'll admit he's not really clear on what he wants. However, if you visit him durring office hours. He'll practically tell you the answers. He basically wrote my essay for me, then I got 85% Going to the class is tough with his accent, but if you participate even once you get your 10% participation grade.

able to study right off his lecture notes, although not in his class section because of the 10% participation. with his thick accent and soft voice, it's almost as if he's trying to put his class to sleep. his assignments are easy and short, although exams are hard and full of his unnecessary underlining of key words right out of hislecture notes

This public law is a full year and he is not the professor to be teaching a class with this much information. He marks fair and is approachable, but there is no way anyone can stay awake or pay attention in his classes. In the end the exams are hard as hell with alot of material to cover on them, therfore everyone does bad.

In his mind I'm sure he thinks he's very interesting, but in reality he simply reads off of PowerPoint slides (VERY slowly) while repeating the same material over and over. Over-all, he is a very strange teacher, and should probably just write books, leaving the lecturing to people to can both teach AND be interesting!

I thought this would be a great class & was disappointed. I can't understand half of what he says & his lectures don't seem to flow. He doesn't like to hand back papers and is not very interesting as a lecturer. Overall, if you don't like boring, hard to understand lectures, don't take this course... I didn't enjoy it at all!!

The two worst parts about this prof are the condescending way he talks to everyone in his lectures and the fact that he takes weeks to respond to simple e-mails. But, other than that, he's very clear on what he wants, very fair, straight-forward, and his exam was pretty much exactly what he said it'd be.

This guy expects way too much from his students and will not rmember if you wanted to speak with him. Hard marker and real snobby. Probably the worst porf I have ever had and advise everyone to stay away from him becase he is very demanding and moves too fast for what he is teaching. Hands back papers late and doesnt care if you need help. he sucks

Enthusiastic teacher. I liked his lectures because he seems to care about the subject. I did make appointments on two separate occasions to speak with him, which he forgot!?! I did not bother trying to communicate any further after that ... I just listened to the lectures, handed in my assignments and wrote the exams.
