Dr. Baker is a GREAT person and a great teacher but he really doesn't like giving out As. I consider myself a fairly good writer and couldn't crack an A on a any paper all semester even after going to the writing center. The midterm and final were papers to be written, edited, and finished in three days. Killers. Overall amazing teacher hard class.

Very controversial professor. Hard to understand and very temperamental. I feel sorry for him. He is an aging hippy who puts shock value over actual education. I wish I had taken someone else. His class will leave you shaken and confused. He aspires to attack everyone in his lecture room of heck. Very hard to talk to. Mostly inaccessible.

Christopher is unclear in his lectures and imprecise in his own work. He requires excessive readings, but none of this matters if you can't recite his own opinions and agenda. He uses put downs often and I have sadly even heard him say profanities in class - often. Very biased, uncaring, and honestly somewhat concerning individual. Taught little.

Doctor Baker is a rather bitter man. I feel sorry for him. He is caught up in lecturing aimlessly in nihilistic areas of philosophy and history. He is Ultra Liberal, in the sense that Carl Marx looks conservative in comparison. He frequently states things that are off color or outright offensive / discriminatory. He drives conflict and anger.

It's an English class so there is going to be a lot of reading. He's a good professor and has good lectures. There were two 8/9 page papers and two take-home exams (midterm and final)and reading quizzes. He's really nice and always willing to help.

Dr. Baker was a GREAT professor. I've had some awful ENGL professors & he really got me to enjoy the class. You will of course have to do some reading & write a few papers but the work load is very minimum. He gives a few reading quizzes but cliffnotes help. He's a bit picky on grammar w/ the papers but not terrible. I'd highly recommend his class.

Took this class during summer 2 and the guy is literally psycho. He expected us to read The Odyssey, Heart of Darkness, Time Machine, Dutchman, and The Grapes of Wrath during a 4 week course. Not only did he expect us to read these books, he expected us to remember small details. Definitely doesn't need to be teaching summer classes!

Dr. Baker is a sweetheart and a superb literature professor. He expects the best from his students and he grades accordingly. Effort is required but the effort improves your writing. I highly recommend him to other English majors.

Dr. Baker is an amazing professor! There is a good amount of reading involved, but as a literature class, this is to be expected. Take notes during discussions of the novels, you can incorporate and expand on some of his views in your essays. Great way to avoid writers block! Attend class, participate, put work into your essays, and you'll pass!

He takes off for you missing classes. I think if you miss three or more classes, he starts taking off 5 points from your grade or something alone those lines. We had to do two papers and a midterm and final exam. He usually does two parts to the exams. One is a objective portion and then the next is the essay portion.

Dr. Baker's an alright professor. I'm usually an A or B student in English courses, but I found myself making C's on his papers. He's very detail oriented so make sure you include EVERY detail in your paper. The class is interesting, but he can be slightly monotone so I found myself bored. If you want a challenge, take him. I probably would again.

Dr. Baker is one of my favorite professors that I've sat under at AASU. He possesses an incredible amount of insight into literature and I gained a lot of valuable information from his classes. He also will surprise you with his humor here and there. I had a family emergency come up finals week and he was very kind and flexible. Would recommend!

He assigns a lot of reading. We had two quizzes the whole semester. He gives a midterm a final and 2 papers. DON'T PROCRASTINATE AND SPEND A LOT OF TIME ON THESE PAPERS. very particular on the papers. Primarily lecture overall easy class as long as you put effort into the papers.

Dr. Baker is a great teacher. He explains each novel we read in the way that made even the most dense material seen clear. He also gives detailed feedback on each essay we were assigned , which really helps to improve your writing. He is excited about the course material which really comes across in the way that it is taught.

I wouldn't recommend this course if you don't plan to pursue in a career in Literature and English. He expects a lot from his students and that pertains to content, grammar and making your point clear. All grading is based on Exams and papers. Attendance does not count but he does clarify much of Milton's writing in simpler terms.

If I had a hard time understanding what we read, he explained it very well in class. He likes to joke during his lectures, but he still expects the very best from you. Don't expect this to be an easy professor. He grades very tough.

He expects your grammar to be good. Bad punctuation and poor grammar will get points taken off on tests AND on homework. I recommend you take notes the tests he gives will be over almost exactly what he taught you and if you take notes and review them before exams you will be almost guaranteed to pass. Cheesy jokes but he knows his subject.

He wants his students to succeed and do well. I thought he was great, explains the readings very well, lots of class discussions. He can be a tough essay grader but he works in extra credit in the class and some cushion grades to help students get good grades. EASY A!!!

Dr. Baker is a magnificent teacher. The reading can be heavy; however, he does give take-home midterms and finals. I am taking another of his classes now and would definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to get into literature.
