Fantastic professor, all around! Funny, interesting, easy tests, plenty of extra credit, and passionate about the subject. If you're worried that history is going to be boring, take Rasmussen and watch how the study of two-thousand-year-old dead guys magically becomes your favorite class.

He is lazy but a nice person. He lectures pretty well, but I am not sure how fairly he grades. I honestly do not think he reads your essay, although the essay is like 40% of your grade. Overall, nice teacher and his class is not boring. You will have much fun having him for Greek and Roman history since that is his academic specialty.

Why can't all/most/some of my professors be as awesome as Prof. Rasmussen? Instead of having a bunch of feminists who keep shoving Women's Studies ("men are bad, women are good") into the class...more great storytellers like Rasmussen (and Donovan) would be heaven.

Rasmussen is a great lecturer but horrible teacher. His grading criteria regarding term papers is very unclear. He puts great weight on the outline for the paper and if your thesis is not what he was looking for, too late your paper and grade is screwed! Took two of his classes and no matter what I did he would not give a grade higher than B.

Dr. Rasmussen is the best professor I have ever had! He reminds me why I am a history major. His class was fun and it really made me want to visit Rome. I would suggest getting started on the final paper way in advance though because that's what dropped my grade down to a B. Definitely take him!

Not only is the subject interesting but he make's it a fun learning environment. Make sure to take lots of notes down or record his lecutres. It'll help out in the final. For the interpretative essay, choose a topic that he will eventually cover because he will most likely put it on the final. Nice guy and very knowledgable.

He is one of the best teachers I've had in a long time. Super interesting, super smart, and his lectures are very entertaining. Tests are easy if you pay attention in class (which is fun anyway). The one difficult part is the paper, which he expects a good deal of research on.

Not an easy A, but very helpful. His objective quiz is very simple, but 60% of the grade depends on paper (6-10 pages) and final (incl. essay). Reveals the final exam prompts ahead of time. You must defend your thesis well in the paper. Buying the books (ISBN 0140444254, 0143039679, 0140449191) is probably not necessary (just use Wikipedia).

It has already been said; the man can make pocket lint sound interesting. Very helpful and generous with his time. Write down everything he writes on the board. Very FUN class, he should be tenured.

He doesn't grade the interpretive essays. I put him to the test and lets just say he didn't come through. Although I can understand that reading forty essays of 10+ pages each can be daunting, and I would probably only skim them over myself, I can't help but feel disappointed. I put a lot of time and effort into my essay, and I feel deflated!

Dr.R is very generous with his time and is there for his students. Only write terms he puts on board and main points so you can enjoy his amazing lectures. For final just go over terms and if you need more info for the essay use the book. Dr.R should be tenured. He helped me out a lot, and more. Reaction papers make class interactive. Great Idea.

Possibly the greatest professor ever. He is clear, and organized, and his classes are always interesting. I have never ever been bored in his class. Yes his paper is difficult but it is not horrible. Highly recommended if you enjoy history. Also, this guy looks nothing like carrot top.

Dr. Rasmussen clearly enjoys his job and is a dedicated professional. Attendance is very important in this class, and reaction papers due every week. The 10 page essay is very thesis centered, and he is very demanding about this point. The essay is the hardest part, final is a breeze. Just make sure you write down everything he writes on the wall!

Best teacher in the History department. His class is an easy A unless you?re an idiot then you really have to work, but that?s a given anyhow. He?s not hot, so don?t take this class if you want candy for your eyes because you will be greatly disappointed, I would say that appearance wise he is between George Clooney and Carrot Top.

He is such a good history teacher. If you take him you will not be bored in his class because he makes history interesting, yet funny! Do reaction papers they only have to be half a page, there is one big paper 6-10 pages but if you have trouble with it ask him for help and he'll help. BEST HISTORY teacher!!! take him!!

Dr. Rasmussen is an excellent professor at CSULA. I took the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire classes with him. Do the extra credit and pay close attention to his lecture materials. I like his teaching style a lot.
