I e-mailed him at the beginning of the semester and never heard anything back. He doesn't update your grades so you never know your grade. I basically taught myself the course. There were problems on the tests that weren't covered in the homework. He did give extra credit at the end of the semester. If math isn't your thing, don't take his class.

It was hard to pay attention as he is not very engaging. I also found it was hard to understand what he was trying to explain. I passed the class because I had a tutor.

Comment:

Professor Kong is very understanding and wants his students to succeed. I took his class online, and was overwhelmed by the large amount of questions he assigned (would take me hours to complete). Then after the homework, there are tests at the end of each section, which aren't many questions at all. Overall, he makes you work for your grade!

Dr. Kong is overall pretty good. I would take him again. He has a pretty heavy accent but overall he is willing to help students. He wants his students to pass. So prettty easy A.

Professor Kong is a pretty good professor. He has a very strong accent so it may be hard to understand him at times. There are 4 tests plus the final. Not much homework except for the online homework. Showing up and taking notes is a must. Lectures can get long and boring, but it's math. Likes to go over allotted time for class.

He talks quietly and has a very heavy accent, so if you are hard at hearing, I would not recommend him. I understood somethings, and then others I felt like I was in a whole new math class. He jumped through the syllabus a lot, and never really announced when the online homework was posted so you always had to check, and they can get pretty long.

Coming from a student who hates math, this professorclass was such a relief. The chapters covered tend to be lengthy but there is a review available online which is almost identical to the exams. There is a lot of homework but it is not due until the last day of the semester, so if you keep up with it, it is an easy A.

Professor Kong is very helpful and gives you opportunity to get a good grade by assigning homework online and a couple of quizzes. He also gives you a test review sheet and his tests are pretty much the same as the review. He likes when students ask questions and yeah, he has an accent but even me (I am from Brazil) could understand him clearly.

I don't understand how the average grade is a C rating on this professor! Professor Kong is an amazing math professor; the best one I've had so far at HACC. I took him for math 051 and received an A. If you at least put in effort and study the study guidesreviews you will do fine.

Dr. Kong is a professor that actually enjoys when students go to him for help. he is funny and tries to joke to take the edge off. he is hard to understand at times, his accent is thick but he is extremely nice. he does seem almost nervous about teaching once in a while. overall his class is enjoyable

DO NOT TAKE ONLINE CLASS... unless your prepared to teach yourself EVERYTHING. he has no involvement what so ever with the class. He gives you a syllabus and study guides and that's it. He does nothing for online and the material you cover is and hard to follow. The book does not give teacher quality at all. His study guides are the same as test

Dr. Kong is amazing with math. I don't understand it as much as I would love to but he made it much easier to get through it. His homework had a due date, for it ALL, at the end of the semester. If you study, do the work from the syllabus and the online homework, you should get C< A. He's welcome to clarify if his accent is hard to understand.

Takes a class or two to adjust to his accent. Nice, funny, easy-going and knows math. As with any math you must learn through repetition so do the homework and tracked tutorial exercises online. Exams were nearly identical to reviews. Your grade will reflect the amount of work you put into learning the material. Doesn't track attendance.

Dr. Kong is by far the best professor at Hacc! I dislike math but he made it fun and enjoyable, and easy to understand. I had no problem with his accent, and loved his review based tests. Hi is very nice and helpful with all questions and concerns!

Comment:

Way too much homework and online quizzes to facilitate learning of material. Does not respond quickly to e-mails and is rude when you finally get ahold of him. Proctored tests are just like reviews but overall quality of class is poor if you plan on moving forward in math. Not necessarily hard just way too much work to actually learn material.

Tests are similar to reviews but still requires time in the learning center, especially if you have continued math afterwards. He is funny and will stop to answer any question you have. There is alot of stuff covered and it seems kind of rushed, but his tests are easy and he is awesome to work with!

This is a Statistics class. Dr. Kong is very nice, but I don't think he's a very good teacher. I basically taught myself using MyMathLab and reading the textbook. His test review sheets are almost EXACTLY like the test, so don't bother studying more information than is on those study guides. If you study and do the work, you can get an A.

I had absolutely no clue what Professor Kong was talking about, and I don't think he did either. He was constantly putting incorrect answers on the board! I might have to retake this class, and if I do I am NOT taking him!
