Comment:

Clint is a phenomenal professor and my favorite professor at Carleton. I wouldn't miss the chance to hear him make an offhand remark about the weather, much less to take another course with him. In the end, Clint teaches you how to think about and digest course material, which makes even the driest of topics a pleasure to learn from him.

Dude, if you are even considering taking a class from Clint don't hesitate. I have never learned more in a class in my entire life. His lectures are engaging and hilarious and he is my favorite prof of all time. He knows his stuff and super good and explaining.

Clint is a hilarious professor with a sharp wit. He enjoys bantering with his students and having intellectual arguments of all sorts: from geology topics to favorite mixed drinks. He appreciates when students follow up points with evidence and works through concepts until he is sure students understand. He's geology department chair for a reason.

Mr. Clint Cowan is a very emotionally damaged person but he is a good teacher in terms of the content. I think that he is in general friendly although he can occasionally have outbursts of rage and sarcasm. I think that we shared a special moment together and that, although he is upset about being resigned to a life of teaching rather than doing,

Clint is absolutely hilarious, and while he goes off topic frequently, you still learn a lot. Definitely worth taking just for the adventure alone. He's a great guy whom I would highly recommend.

Clint does not assign much homework, which is nice but overall I found the class extremely demanding. His lectures are very scattered and almost all of the assignments were group-based. Although I strongly disliked the class while taking it, I've found that I actually learned a TON and have retained most of the information.

Clint is the best prof I have had at Carleton. His lectures can seem scattered and off topic, but then you get to a test or lab and you realize you actually remember and understand everything he has been talking about. He's great.

Clint is amazing: an excellent prof who knows his stuff. He likes to pick on students, but is an excellent judge of personality so he doesn't pick on students who don't ask for it (shy ones like myself), so don't be afraid of him. He's more focused on class content in person, so visit his office! He is super funny and keeps class interesting!
