Comment:

Shum a micromanager. She will make you stand at the front of class on exam days so she can assign you seats ect. If she sees or hears your phone its 5 points off your course grade. She's a bad professor and lectures are very dull. She would be perfectly happy to fail the whole class and blame the students 100% instead of taking any responsibility.

Absolute embarrassment to this school. Why this woman still has a job is beyond me. Completely incompetent in performing her job. Anything I learned this semester I had to teach myself, or hope the smart person in my group to teach it. No idea if I will pass because she can't even grade correctly.

By far the worst teacher I have had in my entire academic career. She will bury you in homework you don't know how to do, then grade that homework wrong so it hurts your grade, then not explain anything in lecture. My experience with this teacher is so bad it made me want to drop out of college entirely and I'm a junior. Avoid at all costs.

She's a nice person. But that doesn't make her a good professor. Her class is fairly difficult and she's not the best at explaining things. I would not recommend her to anyone. Never used my book either.... somehow I got an A.

Dr. Shum is an excellent professor and she can deliver the material. She gives a quiz almost every other class period. So, If you want an A, don't skip class because every quiz she offers a point of extra credit which really stacks up in the end. All the answers to the homework are available, so you shouldn't have any problem doing the homework.

I've had her twice, she isn't the most clear teacher, but expects you to read the chapters, and I found this very helpful. If you put in the time to her classes it is easy and she will help you. I went into her many times and found it easier When it was one on one and she could clarify better. Not as bad as people say. Just put in the time and work

DO NOT TAKE A CLASS FROM THIS WOMAN! You will fail. Her directions are never clear. She doesnt even teach the class! She assigns groups to teach each chapter, then she has extremely hard tests. Doesnt curve or give extra credit. She gives you a formula sheet for each exam, but the formulas are usually different than what is in the book.

Shum is the worst teacher in Kelce. She doesn't know how to teach. You can't understand her and she clears her throat every 30 seconds which is very distracting. To succeed in this class, write down all examples used in class and study those and the outlines for the test. Avoid at all cost!

i believe she truly knows her field however she just makes the material much more difficult than it really is, saw a tutor for one day and was able to understand all of the semesters worth of material in that one meeting. Avoid if possible

Just don't take her if you can. She is nice but has no skill when it comes to transferring information mostly on the more difficult stuff. She is a very picky grader, you can get the right answer but still not get all the points or any(show all your work and I mean all). Shes just not a good teacher.

Rushes though all the material and I have not learned a thing from her. I have to teach myself from the book. I cannot follow what she is trying to teach during class she jumps around and pulls numbers out of her head so I have no idea what we are trying to calculate. Dont take this class from her.

Terrible teacher. Races through material, doesn't speak loud or clear enough, and makes tests extremely difficult. I left class overwhelmed and stressed every time, and always had to teach myself how to do the material since she rushed through it all so quickly. I have a 3.78 GPA and haven't had a C since 8th grade, so you can believe what I say.

This disgusts me. Every single person on here said she is the "worst teacher they ever had." Then why did I get A's in all her classes and you did not? Instead of relying on listening to her lectures and reading over your notes, READ YOUR BOOK YOURSELF AND DON'T BLAME HER BECAUSE YOU WON'T TAKE TIME OUT OF YOUR BUSY SCHEDULE TO GET GOOD GRADES.

I am a finance major, and this is the only finance class I did not get an A in. During dead week, we covered 3 chapters in two class periods, and that was what our Final was over! She spends half of class reading the Wall Street Journal to us, like we are illiterate, and then speeds through the lecture so fast that no one understands. Take Bracker!
