He is a wonderful professor. He will do anything for you to succeed. You can ask him any question he will help you to understand. His lectures are very clear. In calc 1 we had 3 exams plus final. He will not fail you if he will see you are trying hard! Take him!

He rambles about his life instead of teaching the criteria. I learned more about his life than I did statistics. He could be a good teacher if he actually taught the class.

Valdez is awesome! He gets off topic quick but knows his math. He assigns homework prior to each class session. He takes a long time to grade exams so don't expect them back right away. However, he still gives you partial credit for the steps you actually know. I would definitely take him again. He's hilarious!

Yes he can go on rants/stories, BUT who cares. Its a price you pay for an amazing math professor. The way he teaches Calculus is so straight forward and easy to grasp. It's been a while since I've taken math, but he explains/ breaks down the problems to where you understand whats going on. Do the work and you should have no problem passing.

Great Professor. Very straightforward on what you need to do from the beginning! If you COME TO CLASS and ask ?'s when needed then you will pass. Book is needed for sure for the homework and to refer back to. 2 tests total in the class so DO NOT MISS CLASS and risk falling behind. I was really late one day and fell behind but was able to catch up.

Professor Valdez class was very interesting . I really enjoyed his class as he would give good lectures and important life advice . At first I thought he was just wasting time explaining personal stories , eventually I realized hes stories and advice were very supportive in passing this tough class. Tests are straight forward , and very easy final

I was so excited about this professor because of all these hypes here. Long story short, I got traumatized terribly with statistics. Every lecture was a nightmare. He talks about himself too much. I've been attending Chaffey for quite a while, and this was one of the most terrible class ever taken. Such a HUGE waste of time. Avoid.

There are only 4 tests and those are the only things that count for your grade. Participation to do HW problems if you want extra credit and he does not check homework. To get an A, do the problems he specifically tells you to do when he reviews what is on the exam and make sure you do his test reviews correctly. Easy and funny teacher.

You know its going to be bad when the first class the professor spends two hours bragging on himself. It was as if hes read all his RMP reviews and was trying to come up with an excuse. No respect for the students. Very stereotypical middle-aged white guy. Age shaming young people. He tried to play at being modest briefly. Not convincing.

I hadn't been in a math class for more than 20 years. going back was a shock. so much I did not know. it was like gibberish at first but he goes over the material in a way that builds your knowledge. if you have problems on a test he will work with you to ensure you know the content come the next test. he is a hard grader but he is fair.

I took this class coming right out of high school with taking Calculus and passing. My counselor wouldnt let me take a higher math because i received a B+ in Calculus in high school. So I knew all this easy stuff already. It was a really easy class. Posts homework without telling students. He talks a lot of politics. He goes off track very easily!

I have fallen in love with this teaching style. Math is not my subject but he made it so simple. I had to retake this math class because I did not understand any of it! He is really funny! He makes class interesting! I definitely recommend!!!!

valdez is more worried about trying to be funny and cool than his job. He is extremely rude to students. He makes you feel like you are dumb because of the level math you are in. I wish he wasn't a teacher. EMAILING HIM? HAHAHAHA good luck with a response. He is lazy, does not grade quickly enough, and overall a poor professor. Never again.

He won't stay on topic, he constantly rambles about his own personal life, and when students ask questions he shuts them down and makes jokes at their own dispense. Uses Webassign which for fast tracks doesn't offer a discounted codes. Worried more about coming off as a fun and cool guy than teaching.

This was my second time taking theverything course, previous professor was difficult to understand but thank god I found professor Dan! Consists of 4tests, he hates grading papers so he would just give 10 basic nondifficult questions for the exams. Just learn the material that's all he cares about, passed the class with an A, highly recommend!

professor valdez is a great teacher but a very slow grader and only gives a couple examples for each section then expects you to do problems for homework that weren't even talked about and are extremely difficult all tests the answers must be written out nothing is multiple choice. overall he really is a good teacher

Prof. Valdez is very clear in his lectures. His notes are easy to follow and he'll explain if something doesn't make sense. He is pretty relaxed in class. His humor is very dry, but I find it funny. I went to the SI sessions, which helped a lot since it's been a few years since I've taken a math class. I would definitely take him again.

Had him a few years ago. He's hilarious and brilliant and wants his students to succeed. A little eccentric but it made the class less of a snooze fest. Go to class, do your homework, ask questions. From what I've heard, he's way better than any other stats professors at chaffey

Extremely slow grader, which is a problem when I feel like I'm struggling in a class, since I don't know where I'm at and what I need to work on more. Talks a lot about how easy he thinks math is, which is nice for him, I guess, but I'd like it if he spent that time reviewing the actual material instead.
