Comment:

Nice guy, kind of meh professor though. Very dull at times and really doesn't present the material that effectively. Topics in the class seem aren't really presented in context of real world application, which is disappointing because the material is very applicable. Not difficult, but should be a better class although he does mean well.

Comment:

Dr. Pan is an easy going professor. His lectures can be somewhat boring at times, but his tests are open book and open notes. If you pay attention class and review his notes, you will be prepared for his midterm and final exam. The homework is digital and must be typed up using Microsoft Word, or LaTeX. Just get familiar with either one of those.

Comment:

Long hwks, & *must* type them up in Word/LaTeX/etc. or lose 30% (Use hotkeys/learn formula shortcuts) but gives hwk help in class. Open book/notes midterm & final exam. Midterm just like hwk problems, but final exam wasn't much like hwk problems, more of application of general 385 knowledge. Super hard to stay awake in class, lectures are boring.

Extremely boring. Material is easy but he grades very harsh--barely any partial credit. He is very prideful in his work and believes he is 100% correct regardless of what you present to him. Meeting him in the office is a complete waste of time.

CPE 381 AND CPE 448. Good prof. take good notes in 381, space out during 448 until he rights something on the board then listen. very quiet guy, helpful, he hw is directly from the notes and if you find people who have already taken it - itll help dramatically. good classes, learned a lot.

Labs and homework are very easy. The midterm/final reflect material from these homeworks, and are also quite easy. Dr. Pan presents some very interesting information in this class. Overall he's a very good professor.

This teacher is okay, but he can be very boring at times, or it's probably the material that's incredibly boring. You will need to bring a pillow, and your pillow will need a pillow.

Good teacher, almost seems nervous sometimes in lectures. But covers material well, and has a concerned attitude towards students. Be prepared if you're a grad student, though. He's extremely tough on your class presentations. You absolutely MUST know the material backwards and forwards before presenting.

Boring, but there is really no way to make the material covered exciting. He covers material thoroughly, but used slides for the latter 2/3 of the class. Very reasonable tests, study your notes thoroughly and you should do well.

not a man of his words, when he tell you something it could be true, the midterm was as everything he told us, but the final he killed us, even he told us in class that he would never give less than C not ture

Good lectures, very helpful, midterm reflects the material covered in the homework. The final is however quite a different story. Some of the material on the final was not covered very well or at all. Doesn't prepare class for the his final very well.

he is very nice teacher and he would answer anything that you want he might even give you the soluiton to the homework before the due date, he is kind boring and you might go to sleep in class but the mideterm is exectly what he say is going to be on

Dr. Pan is a very good professor. He does a very good job of conveying the point to the students, and he generally cares more about testing your knowledge of the material unlike Dr. Gaede who is interested in playing tricks on you.
