Dr. Surrey's online class was interactive, you will learn, his powerpoint lectures are informative, he keeps his voice interesting giving the feeling you are in a classroom setting. I will recommend this very passionate and knowledgeable professor.

There is a lot of work in this class. Surrey is a professor that I will want to take again. If people talk in the class it is more interesting but Surrey is interesting also. He gives good lectures and review games before exams. There is a 20 page research paper but we have all of semester to do it. I learn so much from him in the class

Surrey is one of the best professors you will run into at SPU. in the beginning he gives a lot of work but if you do the readings and keep up with the assignments (handing them in on time) you can pass. He is very understanding and jokes around a lot. he gives about 5 test that are based off what you learned and gives a review before test day.

He was also my freshman advisor and he is such a gem. He will make you laugh with stories of his family. I wish I could take another class of his but sadly I'm not a Sociology major. HE is a MUST HAVE Professor. Don't regret ever being in his class. Love this guy!

He is an amazing professor! He makes class so interesting and makes you want to participate.. he is so funny! Don't expect to sit quietly in his class.. you will have to talk at some point but you will feel comfortable with him. He is the best!

Dr. Surrey is a really amazing professor. I really enjoyed his class. Having said that, if you're going to take him, get ready to work. His final paper is super long, he gives a bunch of short answer quizzes, and hours of readings. He thinks that his class is the only one students take, but he's awesome.

Surrey is the best professor i'e ever had, at 8am, to be able to keep me awake, he was awesome! His class is not too hard, but the workload is tougher than the average class. He grades fairly and truly cares about the well being of his students! Awesome and funny man, take any class you can of his!

The BIGGEST SWEETHEART I've ever met. He has to be the nivcest guy ever. Not only is he extremely smart and helpful he is very funny. Teachers like Dr. Surrey are the reasons why I love school. Some teachers should learn to be more like him. Take him for any class he is GREAT!

I graduated in 2002 and actually had no real interest in school. Dr. Surrey was one of the few professors who caught my attention, I actually remember being interested in his class and actually working hard to obtain a good grade He seemed that he cared about his students and what they were learning. Thank you Dr. S, you made a difference to me!

Dr. Surrey is an extremely intelligent man. He's a great teacher and a great advisor. You can't go wrong with Dr. Surrey. I wish I was a Sociology major so I could take him more. A+++ teacher.
