Don't let the extremely dense physiology in chapter 1 scare you. Gets much easier to understands. You're graded on 2 things: weekly quizzes and a (relatively short) very formal scholarly APA research paper. Focus on his module lectures for the quizzes; all the answers are there. I barely used the book. I mostly used it to get ideas for my paper.

I took this class online, so I don't know much about Yells, but the class is great - lots of very interesting discussions. Grade is based on weekly quizzes, weekly discussion boards (post and reply), and the final paper. Expectations are clear, information is well provided, it's not an overly difficult class. Textbook is useful for quizzes/paper.

Great teacher! Weekly quizzes, all material is posted on canvas, no book required! Weekly discussion posts, super easy and informative. Final is a term paper that must be 5 pages long. Really straight forward class and professor.

The information you need for the quizzes is all online (don't bother buying the text, you don't need it). There's a lot of errors on his online program though. It gets confusing at times. It's an extremely easy class though. The final is a large research paper-start immediately! Send in drafts for feedback and you'll get a good grade.

Dr. Yells teaches a fun class. However, if you haven't taken chemistry or college biology, then prepare to fail. This class is probably the second most difficult class I've taken (after college biology.) Fascinating class and professor but lots of memorization and big words. i would have gotten higher than a B+ if I had more time to study.

Dr. Yells is an amazing teacher. He was very clear on how to get a good grade in the class, we had a quiz each day over the previous material and a final paper, no tests! You do not need to attend class but if you go and take notes you will pass all the quizzes and you have the whole semester, with his help, to finish the paper. Take his class!!

Gives amazing lectures and very professional. Teaches most concepts first while drawing them on the board and then has a PowerPoint for follow-up which is available on Canvas. He has a quiz at the beginning of most classes and 1 paper. It's still a tough class. Intro to brain and behavior is mostly memorization and a prereq for Psychopharmacology.

He took over half way through the semester when our teacher left. He is a tough grader on the paper know your APA and turn in early for him to review. He is brilliant and I loved learning from him. Quizzes are to the point. Wish I took psychopharm from him.

BEST TEACHER EVER! I was pretty nervous about taking psychopharmacology but thanks to him it has become my favorite class of the semester. He knows his stuff! No midterm or final, test every Thursday (memorize his powerpoints and you'll ace them) and he's willing to go over your rough drafts for the paper. Take him!

Dr. Yells is very professional, organized, and knowledgeable about subject matter. Quizzes were once a week with Article Reviews every other week. Lectures were very interesting, especially if you have a health background. Hand in your Term Paper early to him and he will give great feedback so you can receive an "A". He knows APA format well!

Dr. David Yells is the dean of the Behavioral Science Dept at UVU for a reason. He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Psychopharmacology and he has no problems explaining things down to a students level even though he can talk way over our heads. I learned a lot from him. Make sure you write down everything in his lectures!!

Dr. Yells is extremely knowledgeable and professional. Great guy, very understanding. This was our capstone for the SUDC, so by the time you are to this level, you should know your stuff. No tests, just papers and assignments. GREAT teacher.

Dr. Yells is a wonderful professor and really knows his material. There was not a midterm or final. Just multiple choice quizzes at the beginning of each class and a final paper due.

No final exam, just 15 question quizzes throughout class. Final paper is 40% of grade, HIGHLY recommend turning in rough drafts, he completely edits your paper and you get a really good grade on it. People who didn't turn on in, were really upset with their scores. He knows his stuff. LOVED HIS CLASS!!!!

David was funny, but ALWAYS canceled class(in advance)The material was boring when we were there. He's really helpful with APA formatting, which you HAVE TO know for the program. I like that he gave all of the assignments the first day of class. He is organized, but it was lame we never had class.

No Tests, No Final, a couple of quizes/PEOs. Terribly formatted course. Your grade is made by how well you can interpret his interpretation of APA format via one small paper. Didn't retain or learn anything because that isn't required for this course and he didn't really teach me much. It seems APA is the only way to breathe validity into a career devoted to the study of pseudoscience. Avoid him, he is bad at what he does. UVU should be ashamed to have this guy passing this "course" (merely an exercize in APA complaisancy) off as upper division credits.

Study for the PEO's like you would a test, pick a paper topic EARLY, get at least one rough draft in EARLY. If you want an A, make taking this advice MANDATORY. Yells is an APA format and grammar fanatic (with good reason). Great teacher, knows his stuff. Will let you make up quizzes, but it's a trap. Do your work on time! NEVER looked at the text.

Dr. Yells is skilled at what he does. This is the third class I have taken with him, and he is extremely consistent and fair. Funny at times, if not overly friendly. He will give substantial help on the final paper if you get him an early rough draft. Class is mostly notes, review, and short tests of 15 questions per chapter. Excellent teacher.

This class is hard, the first 7 or 8 PEO's are easy if your study. He makes the last 5 or 6 PEO's harder for some reason. I would say take someone else if you could but at least one of Yells classes is required.
