Comment:

Debi is a great teacher, especially in the online sense. This was my first online class and Debi was a big part of my success in this class. You will read a big book on SQL. You will spend a good portion of your week writing SQL statements for your homework and it won't always be easy. But if you do the work you will do well in her class.

Comment:

Help is there if you ask in the right medium. The HW questions are unclear along with the responses from the instructor. There are too many outside links. You might be on chapter 5 but expected to answer questions for chapter 6 which is hard because the HW is locked down until that week's module opens. Best to take this class from someone else.

Comment:

Hybrid class that met on Tuesdays. Assignments and participation in class helped to cut down on assignments you had to do on your own. Guest speakers nearly every week made the class fascinating. Also had to buy 1 book ($8), the rest of the class materials were all open source! Great class.

Comment:

Professor Griggs is a wonderful teacher. She is helpful and knowledgeable, posts great notes, and is extremely helpful with feedback. She makes learning difficult topics engaging and easy. I would highly recommend her courses, and look forward to having her again in the future.

Comment:

Ms. Griggs is one of the best instructors I have ever had. And, I am working on my fourth degree. I have attended a university, a technical college and a community college and she outshines 99.9% of the instructors/professors that I have had. She is attentive, smart and kind. Anyone would be lucky to have her.

The textbook is terrible. This quarter has mainly entailed going to W3 Schools and Stack Overflow, not her, and learning from there. If you replaced her with a TA whose sole job was to grade homework assignments? I wouldn't notice a difference. Basically, if you want an easy class, take this. If you want a teacher to interact with, go elsewhere.

This SQL class was a great introductory course. Assignments were clear and everything was laid out right at the start. My only complaint is that the lectures were basically a waste of time. They just reiterated what the textbook said in less detail. The lecturer just repeated the text already on the screen. Good class, but just read the book.

Griggs is one of a kind! She displays a great sense of humor, intelligence, easygoing, fair, and really helps you to understand the material she is teaching. I would take any class she is teaching.

Debi is one of the best instructors I have ever encountered. Her attention to detail, communication, assignment presentation & her course preparation are what set her apart. Very organized! Class was very challenging but with her guidance I excelled

The best instructor EVER. Very helpful, kind, caring, and knowledgeable. She present the material in a manner that is easy to understand. What more can you ask for. Plus she's HOT too. Debi, if you ever read this, YOU'RE THE BEST!

Debi has a great energy about her when teaching. You can tell that she's a very smart woman who loves what she does. The overall subject is a bit dry though. The assignments were easy but tedious (discussion questions, self-evaluations, practice quiz every week). She gives you the test answers beforehand, so tests are easy A's if you study!

Debi, was clear on her lectures. She never said anything bad about her previous students like someone said before. She was patient with all of the students and very helfull. You'll be able to tell that she likes teaching that class. The class was easy. I recommend her to everyone!
