So unorganized when it came to due dates, she was always changing them last minute. Very unapproachable. Not clear with what she wants and when you ask to clarify she gives attitude. Theres so much more I could say but it wouldnt fit in here. Bottom line she was the worst English teacher Ive ever had and I would not recommend her to anyone!

AFRS 115 is by far the most demanding and tedious class ever. Prof. Broadous is VERY unclear about what she wants and will change her mind at the last second. Our final portfolio of all of our work and 15 page final paper were so stressful and LONG. The workload is SO excessive and unnecessary. Get ready to write and edit A LOT. BEWARE!

FRESHMAN AND ANYONE ELSE TAKING AFRICANA STUDIES COURSES PLEASE BEWARE, I BEG OF YOU. This class was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life, and I am not exaggerating. She is very unclear and expects us to read her mind. We had multiple page papers due every week, while having to come up with a 15 page research paper. DON'T DO IT

She does not post on Canvas, and expects you to have the (unclear) syllabus memorized before asking her a question. Long stretches of class will be spent trying to clarify what she wants an essay to be about and the due date. You are required to get two peer reviews and a lab edit for every essay. Don't buy the textbook or reading, we don't use it.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. No feedback on grades, unclear on literally everything, canvas doesn't match up with anything she says in class, will do more than required and then will try to tell you that every other AFRS 115 is doing the same when in reality they aren't. Class was an unnecessary stress and I highly suggest you don't take this class

Shes a very tough grader, like alot of the students in my class would get low scores on their tests/quizzes or on the work she would want us to turn in. What saved me was the group presentation and the final paper. If not I probably wouldnt have passed.

There were a lot of papers and with each assignment, the page requirement increased. Turning in final draft required a lot of other additional papers including having a writing lab sign off. As far as book we only read on chapter of the 2 books we had. She said we had to follow the reading schedule and read on our own but she never checked.

I took AFRS115 this semester. I worked extremely hard, doing every single pointless assignment to the best of my ability to only receive a B in the class. (This was the only class I got a B in). She gives many papers, while you are writing a paper, you are given another one to start on. She's a nice lady and she does care , but gives too much work!

Save yourself and do not ever take this professor for any class. Rude, attitude problems, and does not care about you. She expects you to know how to do things when she has not even explained them. Unorganized, and acts like this is the only class we have on our hands. LOTS OF PAPERS. Just don't.

Shes really big on just you learning from the reading and her talking some what about the reading and giving her opinion about the author. Her tests are confusing, mostly everyone in my class got bad grades on the midterm she gave. You also have to do 3 critical reviews and a 15 page research paper. No final test. I wouldnt really recommend it.

Please never take her!!! I made the biggest mistake by staying in her class, my GPA is now paying it. Avoid her at all costs. She teaches NOTHING, expects you to learn from the textbook on your own. She also gives tons of assignments and a long research paper (15 pages). Please save yourself

If you have a busy schedule, this class isnt for you. Most of the comments here are true. Broadous is unorganized, and unclear about what she wants in an assignment. Shell change her mind about what she wants in an assignment, making it hard to start early. However, she is an easy grader and quite lenient on latework, but she wont tell you that.

Everything that people are saying on this page is true. She is unorganized and extremely inconsistent. Gives extreme amounts of work and has nearly impossible standards. Her syllabus for our course was 17 pages long and was much more important to her than the textbook!I couldn't stress this enough. Please.. Avoid Professor Broadous AT ALL COSTS!

We got Prof.Broadous as a replacement. Thats when life got EXTREMELY difficult. You not only have a Portfolio to do, you have journals, vocab, research projects, book reports, novel notes, research notes, extra essays w/peer edits,HW from the LMW, and MORE. All due in a binder in the correct order. You wont have time for other classes! Good Luck.

Lectures have nothing to do with class. Gives a ridiculous amount of work. Would be best to avoid her class. Really stressful class, get started early on your essays and "journal/portfolio", she doesn't exactly follow her own syllabus, so ask lots of questions in class. If you don't agree with her line of thought you're wrong in her eyes.

This teacher thinks her class is the only class that matters in school. She does not think you have any other classes and gives at least 6 page essays back to back. If we are not typing 6 page essays, we are revising them. There will be no time in between to study for her near to impossible vocab tests as well. Advice: just don't take her.

The most unorganized teacher ever! She assigns work and sometimes forgets about it, then assigns something else. She isn't considerate of your other classes. By far the worst professor i've ever had. Best advice, AVOID TAKING HER CLASS!!!!!!!!!!
