Professor Kaplan is beyond amazing! You will obviously have to read the books she assigns and do papers but they aren't that difficult. There is a quiz about almost every week but if you keep up with the reading you will be fine. Every class is a discussion and is so interesting. She's so helpful and wants her students to succeed. Would take again

She is awesome! Must read and participate. Little difficult to receive A but B is easy. bi-weekly quizzes but she drops 2. Exams are 2 parts. Huge comparison paper and short answer question which is easy as long as you keep up with the reading. Take her CLASS!! It's worth it.

She is an awesome prof. Her teaching style is a discussion and you HAVE to keep up with her reading to participate. Drops your 2 lowest quiz, and midterm & final is 2 parts. 1 paper writing and answering questions from reading. She will allow late submission and allow you to re-do your work. Easy B, but A is much harder.

Dr. Kaplan is one of THE best English professors I have had the honor of being instructed under. She encouraged active discussions in class on the novels read/covered & the class was zero pain-all joy!! I had a rough semester and Dr. Kaplan's class was like a beacon of light--a sanctuary during a time of chaos. Lovely & intelligent person. #AWESOME

Not an easy A but it can be done. She wants you to take this class seriously but it's a gen ed who is she kidding? just read the articles for the pop quizzes and when she assigns the three books just look them up on spark notes and you are good. She has a midterm where you write an in class essay and the final is 2 in class essays which is stupid.

I love Prof. Kaplan. Her class was always interesting and I always left with a new idea. She is funny and insightful, but also expects a reasonable amount of effort. She'll never criticize someone for trying. She'll push you to succeed, not to be mean. My writing and critical thinking definitely improved after this class.

Kaplan is a good professor. She is very precise when it comes to grading, but in the end puts more emphasis on content, which of course any decent literature professor would. Ummmm Prof. Kaplan is not rude at all! She is an awesome professor. All you have to do is actually COMMENT and DISCUSS what you are doing in class that day. You definitely need to go to class regularly or you wont do as good as expected. There were a lot of papers and readings, but she is a fair grader for sure. Take her if you can!

Took Kaplan for 18thc/Restoration Drama.Great professor.Loved going to her office to talk - don't be intimidated!She's the chair of the English dept, but very easy-going.Class was semi-hard.Just do the assigments, come to class, and read the material.One group presentation of a scene acted out chosen from a given list.Yes,Picky about writing style.

Kaplan is an amazing teacher. She is honest with her students, which I appreciate as a serious student of literature. I also think she handled the petty drama from two students in my class appropriately (someone else commented that she was rude, which of course she is NOT rude at all).
