I found Dr. Shelley's class to be highly informative and interesting. Yes, I did not really know how I was doing as far as grades until the end of the semester but her office door is always open if you need to talk to her about the matter. Highly recommend this professor if you are a comm. major at UHD. Dr. Shelley loves what she does.

The absolute worst professor..no book, she gives you all stolen notes, you get no feedback on work and most students get Cs in a sex class! Nobody has any idea how they're doing till they get their final grade in the class. And TALK ABOUT ATTENDANCE. You miss two days and you drop a grade.

Dr. Shelley is one of the worst professors I have ever had. She uses no book, but steals everything for this class from a professor from Arizona State. Her notes came directly from this professors textbook with no credit given to the original author. You have to sit in a kindergarten circle and god forbid you disagree with her. I would stay away.

Don't be fooled by the negative comments! All of her classes are good. A lot of classroom discussion mostly. Keep up with the probes and extra credit! NO TEXTBOOK REQUIRED IN ANY OF HER CLASSES!

She's a little caotic, but it was an easy class. You'll have to be patient when taking her for several reasons. First, you must be on time, and attend every clas, even if she does not. Second, discussion do not stay on topic... EVER.

Pretty lazy teacher. Expects you to come to class and be on time even though she is late about half of the time, and always has an excuse of why she is late. She is somewhat helpful. I did everything she wanted on her papers and still got a C on all of them. If it's possible, I would take a more professional teacher who is not lazy with her work.

I took Dr. Shelley for sex, love and romance and yes she is a little unorganized but who is'nt. the one main thing I feel like i should tell everyone is that the test are not about your opinion so dont read too much into them. Stick striaght to the handouts!!! I thought too much about the questions so I did not do well

i took her for family she is nice but she is unorganized to the point where you get lost in her class. she unfairly requires you to talk in her class, which is unjust cause so people just dont want to talk. one test and a bunch of probes to write . class is not hard but she is non tradtional teaching.

My final grade was better than I planned to get,so this is not sour grapes. All in all I felt the course was a bad plan poorly implemented. I feel that I am only marginally more competent in the topic (nonverbal comm) than before before I took the class. Much of the class was wasted in unsupervised reasearch. Take SOS 2304 Research Methods instead.

she is very good at giving you advice in life on your realationship and marriage. she is very lazy and will mess your grade if dont check with her on a regular bases. she does not get up to pass out papers and her test are hard and most of what we review is not on the test. so just write down most of the notes in class, very important

Very good teacher. Read the syllabus, it is crucial to your survival in the class (ie Attendance Policy). Her classes are laid-back, but make sure you do the work. I made A's in every course I've taken from her. You don't have to "suck up" to get a passing grade, do what you're suppose to do and you'll be fine.

I really didn't enjoy this class as much as I thought I would. I expected it to be more hands on and interactive. She never gets up from her desk. We didn't have a textbook, so if you missed a class you were screwed. Attendance is mandatory to pass. Alot of unneccessary writing of 8 probes and 1 abstract. Take at your own risk.
