All based on the readings. Her power points were confusing and provided no help. Goes on tangents all throughout class yet still expects you to know and understand the material she did not go over. You are left to learn and understand the course by yourself.

Her class felt all over the place and disorganized. She gives a ton of reading and almost exclusively tests you on the readings but wont give you titles, shell refer to them by their last name but theres over 15 different authors. She would go on tangents in lectures and then make us learn the material on our own.

this class was actually pretty hard.. she goes off on a lot of tangents so I felt kind of lost. grades really harshly. No midterm but there are group discussions, quizzes, and one book review. Final was in class short essays. She takes attendance

Comment:
Extremely biased, one-sided arguments presented in this class. Makes a class about the roles of women in society into a class about racial inequality, totally ridiculous and not what the course description says. Attendance is MANDATORY - grade drops 1/2 of a letter for EACH unexcused absence. Ridiculous 15 min in class assignments every so often.

Denise is a wonderful teacher. Her lectures are interesting and so are her readings. The 3 week summer session went incredibly fast, but she still managed to get everything in there, she also showed striking influential documentaries. Two thumbs up! :)

This class was a waste of time, the way the teacher taught her class did not promote critical thinking, but rather all we did was memorize and regurgitate facts. She claims expertise in education, yet she fails to give any insight beyond already common knowledge. The class is an easy A, but it's not worth it. She is NOT a good Chicana role model

Excellent Chicana role model. I love her lectures and is very articulate in her presentation of the course material. A great personality and a must for all those who seek a balanced view of social life. Unbiased teaching and well rounded.
