He engaged the class and made everyone participate during lecture. This made for a great learning environment and I actually retained information from his class.

Avery good teacher once uget past his cracking voice constantly and his lame jokes.Took this at another university and had to drop it halfway through.Explains everything fully and tells u everything that u MUST know. When he tell u something,WRITE IT DOWN it WILL be on the test.STUDY!Spent too much time telling u what to do to fail the class though.

He is a great professor. He takes the most complicated seeming problems and puts them in terms students can understand. He is a stickler for you to keep up with the material outside of class, but if you can do that I would highly recommend him.

Absolutely the best of the best. I can honestly say there are few to none as knowledgeable as this man and who also have the ability to teach the material. Chem 1 is only moderately difficult with him just because he has to deal with idiots who only need 1 science class but after that he is simply unbeatable in pure teaching skill and difficulty.

First of all i am a junior at geneva college and i took Organic 1 with berzansky. This man is and will always be the best prof i have ever had. However dont expect to show up and get and A. Also the final was 4.5 hours long. But those who bash this guy are only showing their unwillingness to do work.

this teacher was by far the most helpful teacher you will find. He is a diamond in the rough. People who don't want to learn chemistry, don't bother (people who complained below). Those who can appreciate a good teacher... take him and stick with it. He teaches like a professor from a university in every way. Only he's better

Professor was tough, but did not give up on students unless student gave up on class. Explained things well, but not good with taking questions. Expected students to learn and apply and figure out answers for themselves. Definitely made students think! Tough, but fair.

This is absolutely the worst teacher I've ever had in my entire life. Extremely difficult and memorization is a must to even achieve a D. I'd rather have a baby out of my mouth than hear this man again.

Berzansky is actually a really good professor (with the exception that he loves to feed his ego by making others feel stupid). The class was not difficult, I slacked BIG TIME and got an A in the class. If you know the handouts and notes, the class is a breeze. Dont even bother buying the book...I glanced at it once.

Mr. B is an acquired taste. At first he got on my last nerve but i've stuck with it, and now he has grown on me. The man knows his chem and he teaches it well. Those that complain just dont want to put forth the effort that it takes to do well in his class. I can say one thing that the rest of my classes are cake walks thanks to his teaching.

He is a very good teacher you just have to be prepared. He can be hard but if you pay attention and study shouldnt be a big problem. He knows his stuff but will move at the pace of the class. If you plan on transferring to a bigger college he is the guy to take. You will find out if you are prepared to go to another college other than community.

A teacher that demands your best and nothing less. Taking his class was like attending a crash course in Social Darwinism. One of the most interesting teachers I have had with incredible teaching skills, it was a real experience to attend his class and I was made stronger and most knowledgeable for it. Without a doubt a exceptional teacher!

Definitly not an EEAZZY A! He TELLS you what you need to know for the test! Pay attention, study hard, and you'll do fine! I've had more profs than most people ever have. This guy is a GREAT teacher if you want to learn. I took Chem 2 somewhere else, and I missed Berzansky. Learn to love his handouts! They'll be your best friends! Good explainer!

My complaint is that Berzansky spent 5 out of the 6 weeks on General Chemistry instead of O. Chem. Then during the second six weeks for O. Chem 2 when I had a different prof, she couldn't teach us much because we had no background in O. Chem 1. It was pretty much an all out waste of time taking O. Chem at WCCC.

I HAVE been exposed to a real 4 year institution (Duquesne University to be exact) and this man does not compare to ANY profeesor that I have ever had. He not only makes you feel like an idiot, he pretty much tells you that you're an idiot (in other words). Guess what, not a great learning strategy! Will take 2nd Chem course elsewhere!

Those that have complained have never experienced true university or post-graduate courses. I suggest you attend a large university or graduate program, and you will have a rude awakening to the real world of academics. Definately not for slackers who aspire for nothing more than to barely achieve an associates degree with minimal effort.
