I have gotten an A in every class except this one. Voice record and Memorize every word she says and write it down on the test. For lab practicals, everything she puts up during lab and classification can be used during the practical. Theres 3 tests, 3 practicals, 2 lab binder checks, 1 presentation, and 1-2 quizzes. To get an A, Dont mess up.

Do NOT take this class. She seems great in the begining of the semester, however, she is the worst professor EVER. She makes the class impossible to get a decent grade and it makes the material not fun to learn. She gives out pop quizzes & you'll have no idea what will be on it. She will mark a lot of points off for a small mistake. DO NOT TAKE HER

Comment:

She expects you to memorize every detail she says down to the last dot. Her grading is not clear and partial credit is nonexistant. Be ready to answer a question in full detail and get a 0 on it any way. BIO 63 class is already hard, but she makes it even harder. My mental health has been spiralling down ever since. Goodluck, you will need it.

She is VERY picky about wording. You have to use the exact wording she wants or she'll mark your points down. Her tests have unclear grading criteria, and you have to know everything she SAYS, not just everything on the powerpoint. Her labs were easy, but tests were worth the most so it devastates your grade because the criteria isnt very clear.

RECORD HER LECTURES. Grading criteria,very murky. powerpoints, outline only. You leave lab early often. Microscope use and dissections. Pop quizzes. Tests, 4 essay questions, 1 EXC essay Q, and 4 short answer. she gives you time to study in class before exam. Know everything she says to get an A in the class

dont take this teacher!!Shes an awful professor. Shes very kind but has an unclear grading system for her test. This clsss is basically memorizing your notes and if its not word for word getting marked down an unreasonable amount of points. Please please try to take someone else. Im gonna need so much therapy after this semester. Not kidding

Good, solid professor. Bio 62 is a hard class by nature, but this professor made it doable. She makes her expectations clear, so as long as you don't slack off you will pass. Make sure to ask her questions if you need to, as extra clarification sometimes makes a difference.

Very difficult exams. Exams are long essays with unclear grading rubric. An immense amount of information to memorize. She does not stop to answer questions or hold discussions to check for understanding. Labs do not cover any oil immersion techniques which is important experience I wanted. Few students earn high marks, mostly C's.

Study guides will be your best friend. Know them. Lecture notes will be on tests. Prof. Cosand is clear in what she expects. She spends time in and out of class to helps students. Dont be afraid to ask. If you're a bio major she has a lot of info on internships she helped me get one. So in my book she is awesome.

All you have to do is show up & take notes. Don't even need to buy the book because the exams are all from the notes - PowerPoints slides. Skip class? Then get the notes from someone else & memorize it. If you get a bad grade, it was because you didn't show up to class & didn't bother to ask someone for notes. Half of the class were hikes. No HW.

This was an overall okay class. You can tell she cares about the subject she teaches (Environmental Bio). There are a lot of field trips to various outdoor hikes which count as labs. Her tests are straight from her lectures however, on essay questions you pretty much have to write word for word her definitions of terms.

It doesn't matter if you're a great student or a straight A biology major, this is the laziest, closed minded professor I have ever had. It's not about learning, its about spitting back her lecture notes onto the exams word for word. 3 exams, 5 essay questions, if its not word for word you lose all the points. I do emphasize word for word!

HWnone. Lectures easy to follow. Notesvery impt. each exam 3 essays & a pg of definitions all based on her lectures. There will be 1 big group proj. What she writes on the board or says put verbatim in your essay. ex: i said species diversity is greater on big & near islands. Didn't add the part "than small or far islands" and i lost 4 points.

I had her for 2 classes and really enjoyed her classes! She is very knowledgeable, provides crystal clear notes, is straightforward w/ the material, and explains things very well. Her multiple choice test can be tricky, but she gives you everything you need to know. I'd definitely take her again

Cosand forgets that there are other people in this planet that are not majoring in Biology. Forgets to be human at time and bases her class on worksheets. Says her job is only to make clear what you should read but cant even do that. She is not very understanding. If she does not like you she will make it harder. Likes to pretend we are bio majors.

loved her. was a fun teacher we always went on field trips. Talk to her on the hikes and you will end up liking her. Barely uses the text book. Exams are 100point but easy just study. laughs at her own jokes but it is because she truly loves what she does. so it make you want to learn more.

Get ready to be completely sick of crossword puzzles because she basically teaches the course with ones she finds on the internet. The course was worth 300 points based on three 100 point exams. You MUST study or else you'll do terrible and there will be no coming back from there. In my opinion, anyone could have taught this class.

her lectures are all powerpoint, if you memorize all of her notes you will get an A in the class.. I probably only used the book once. Labs arent hard at all, and exams are not tricky.. I would recomend her any day.. pretty easy
