One of my least favorite teachers I've had ever. She makes her own guidelines for writing papers and doing assignments different than every other teacher I've ever had. She uses " Professor Dwyres Style Guide" as a bible she wrote for passing her class and its so annoying and a waste of time.

Very rude to students, awful at picking good TAs to represent her in discussion periods. Threatens a lawsuit on any student who tries to take photos of her slides during lecture. Melodramatic and shrill. WILL yell at you in front of 400 students if you try to leave class early. Doesn't teach anything at all. you're better off teaching yourself.

She's the BEST!!! Coordinates the major for Poli Sci. Wonderful woman, super helpful, always hilarious, and as real as it gets. Smart as a whip. Make her your ally and life at the BSS college will be easier.

Very nice lady that cares a lot about politics. She knows a lot about what she is teaching and cares about her students. The lectures are kind of boring to attend but are not mandatory. Tests are not very hard

Lectures were pretty uninteresting, but so is the topic. Only used the little textbook. Attendance only taken in discussion sections. Town Hall Meeting (THM) assignments were worth more than tests. THM assign. were papers based on a certain policy topic then you go to a mandatory THM event. Best advice, put effort into your THM papers!

Fabulous teacher. Really nice, and super helpful. She has so many amazing opportunities she makes available to students (like interning in Congress). She's also an incredibly well read expert in her field so if you're a political science nerd you'll love her.

Dr. Dwyre cares about her students more than any professor ive ever met. Not only is she the undergraduate advisor but she is also willing to help non-political science majors with their career goals. She is bubbly and interesting and incredibly smart. I would definitely say that if you dont take a class with Dr. Dwyre youre missing out.

Course gets very creative halfway through, having us play the role of a senator was a good way to experience what we were learning. The assigned readings were a bit overwhelming at first, and I didn't fully understand what she was looking for in our papers, exams are average level of difficulty. Solid choice if you need an elective.

Prof. Dwyre made this class really fun and easy to follow. She knows the information and keeps lectures simple. 3 Town Hall Meeting Assignments and 3 exams, plus lots of extra credit opportunities. Show up to lecture and discussion and at least skim the readings and you'll do fine. Overall this was a great GE class

Very easy, if you show up to lecture you will pass the test. The only thing I would change about the class would be the Town Hall Meeting that they do every semester, I just did not find it helpful or informational, or very productive at all.

She teaches a big lecture hall and has TA's teach discussions. She is clear, informative, and helpful. Her lectures can be pretty boring, and she doesn't allow you to take notes with your laptop (which is really annoying when there is no desks in the lecture hall.

I only took this class for GE credits. I didn't think I'd be interested in this class at all and I was correct. However, Dwyre made the class bearable, she clearly knows what she's talking about , and she is passionate about the subject. Listening to her lectures will help you in the exams, even without reading the textbooks.

Super easy class. I took the one with Town Hall Meeting. Choose a subject you're interested in or have background knowledge, it makes it easier. I didn't buy either textbooks and you don't really need them. Just show up to every lecture and you'll be good. I didn't go to SI meetings, I heard they weren't that helpful. Might be good for test reviews

Professor Dwyre's class was pretty simple and easy to follow. Take good notes during lectures, attend SI tutoring, and listen to your TA, and you should be fine. When it comes to Town Hall, don't over think the assignment - follow her directions and formatting exactly.

A decent amount of reading, but definitely helps you in the end. Good in lectures, TA is your discussion teacher and is the one who grades your papers. SI classes are very helpful for a section you don't understand (recommend if you're not good at note taking).

Class was easy since she gave pretty much all the answers to the tests in her notes from lecture. However the Town Hall Assignments were pretty difficult to do, and since they were graded by your Masters Student TA, you never know how you're going to do. She had office hours which was helpful, but don't underestimate this class if you want an A

It was an okay class. It was boring, but informative. I really did not think the TA section was necessary. It was a pain to attend as you did not get much out of it. TA I had was cool though.

The lectures are fine, especially for a theatre class. Tests are easy if you take notes. I didn't bother reading the book. But paying for the NYTimes sub made this my most expensive class (more than my major classes), and the TAs are extremely unprofessional and disrespectful toward students. Unless you're a masochist, just don't, seriously.

She is a nice woman if you're a suck up. If you're just doing this for GE and do not like history, take another class. I did everything required, but the cryptic requirements on assignments and the TOWN HALL setup with TA's is NOT GOOD!!! Get out while you can still drop with no penalties, you'll be grateful. Again, DO NOT TAKE TOWN HALL SECTION!!!
