Comment:

Amazing teacher with an amazing attitude and penchant for teaching. Diana draws from a very humble and she has great experiences that she kindly exhibits during class. Her classes are small and close-knit and the environment is ever so warm and cozy. In my class, we had 5-6 essays and no tests. Her feedbacks are phenomenal as well.

Honestly could not speak more highly about Mrs. Gruendler. She is the most caring, inspirational, intelligent teacher I have ever had, and I hope I can reach out to students one day like she does. The best prof I have had at PSU by far. You will get out of her class what you put in. We only had 4 essays, and no tests. Office hours way to get A+

Comment:

One of the best professors I have had. Cares SO much about her students. Yes, she is liberal, and I am too so I may be biased, but I think she treats everyone fair. She really is brilliant and so kind. I got an A in this class, and barely read the books, but worked hard on the essays.

At first she was nice, but then she started advocating her liberal views. She tried teaching them in the class which pissed me off. She gave me very low grades on my essays about welfare/welfare reform (she was clearly biased). All of the feedback she gave me was completely useless & 100% biased- considering I did well on every single other essay.

Did fine in the class, but had a lot of difficulty with her. She is verrry liberal, very vocal about it (most of class time is basically talking points on current events) and I would dare to say hypocritical at times. I've heard so many good stories from ENGL 030 from friends; I would recommend another professor. Also, not helpful on paper reviews.

Easy A. I wrote all of my assignments 30 minutes before class and my lowest grade was a 90. Read enough of the books to sound like you know what you are talkiing about and you'll be set. I even got an Ipad for a while as part of some study! TAKE THIS CLASS

Gruendler's class was fun and it made me more politically interested and informed. She is admittedly pretty liberal but she can back up all of her claims. You don't really need to do the readings to participate in class discussions, but you should be well-versed in current events! She'll love you if you speak up in class and know your stuff.

Very nice person, but for the most part I hated going to class. She is very liberal and talks about politics for 75% of the time and talks about the actual assignments for 25%. If you are liberal you will love the class, if not you will probably get annoyed. She is very helpful on papers and is willing to make comments prior to turning them in.

This class stands out as one of the best I have taken at Penn State. She is certainly liberal leaning, but if you take it with a grain of salt she is fantastic at getting you to think and is very fun. You don't really need to read for class, attending is easy because the class is engaging, and if you get a 97 on a paper it means you did poorly.

Every day it was her telling us that we can 'feel' like educated ppl by keeping up w/ the news. Aggravating if u have very little respect for yellow, biased, ratings-driven reporting. Some ppl don't like putting up w/ all the surface talk & BS that goes on. But I guess teachers of rhetoric love it all. Actual, real discussions would've been nice.

SHE IS AWESOME. A fabulous teacher.. you will walk away not only knowing about the issues she stresses, but what's going on in the world today as she opens every class with a discussion of current events. Conservatives may disagree with some things in her class, but for the most part, she tries to be impartial and see both sides of the issues.

Best class I've ever taken! I hated English in high school; and was never a fan of writing. This is an amazing class if you want to get a B or A while learning a lot more than any teacher has ever taught me. One of the most brilliant teachers I've ever had. Emphasis on politics in the class, which may be why I like it so much, but everyone <3's it

This woman is amazing. 6 essays and my writing is better. she actually cares about her students, she even had us over to her house. she's more than willing to talk. I had alot of dr appts and she was very understanding about my absences. weekly journals=easy. diana's great.

Diana is a horrible teacher. She shoves her political views down your throat and claims she is objective. She thinks you don't realize what she's doing. She is condescending and treats you like your retarded. She wastes the entire class. Everything she "teaches" is common sense. She thinks we know nothing about the world and that she's amazing

She drives me crazy. Wastes half of class every day talking about what's new in the world, which usually only contains political crap and results of the primaries. She is having at least one of our projects be graded only by our peers, which I think is ridiculous. I'm not taking a class in order to be graded by my peers but by a professor. Grr.

A great mind, with a sense of humor and a quick wit. She was always available in person or through email, and always had some interesting news to impart. Be prepared to WANT to work if you're in this class... as surprising as that might sound.

Diana is simply amazing. She knows more about current events than anyone I've ever met. She talks about politics a lot, and she loves YouTube. The paper prompts were always very interesting, and she grades pretty easily. I had this class at 8 am and actually looked forward to it, which is a miracle in itself. :)

I love Diana! She is easily the best professor I have had so far. Endlessly helpful with papers, and what should/shouldn't be in them. I am simply amazed at how much better I am writing after only 5 papers in her class. She is always smiling, and always interested in what her students have to say.

She's one of the best prof's I've ever had. A ridiculously easy grader, so cheerful, makes the class extremely interesting. I'd take it again just to be in a class with her.
