Comment:

Gruber is the best professor I have ever had. Writing does not come easy to me and she truly took the time to help me on every paper. She helped me edit my papers more than once and made me a better writer. Gruber has an open door policy ,she is truly inviting and never makes you feel unworthy of her time. Best professor ever!

Comment:

Dr. Gruber is such an awesome professor. This class has helped me to find a way for me to destress from my college classes and to not worry as much when it comes to certain things. If this class is offered again I would recommend anyone to take it. We did some music meditation as well as boat launching in front of the West library. Such a fun class

Calling Dr. Gruber an incredible professor would be an understatement. She is kind, intelligent, and witty. If you would like someone who truly cares for her students then take her. The only con with Dr. Gruber is that she is always incredibly busy. She has an open door policy, but her office usually has a line of students waiting outside of it.

Dr. Gruber is the best Human Event teacher at West. She really makes you work for the grade, but she gives great feedback so it's easy to improve. Definitely go to her office hours at least once for each essay!

Dr. Gruber is incredible. She's the best Human Event professor on the West campus. She expects a lot from her students, but she gives extremely helpful feedback. Aside from the readings (and there's a lot!), the class consists of writing three essays. Gruber really helped me to improve my writing.

One of the best teachers I have ever had! SO kind and helpful. She will answer any questions regarding jobs and internships and is so ready to help you. Gives great feedback on all assignments. No exams but lots of writing. No homework! All in-class work so go to class.

Super awesome professor! Definitely recommend!!! Bc of our class size, our grade was based on 50/50 [2 exams only] which is a stress-maker but she is hilarious and makes the material super fun! Exams were multiple/truefalse and short answer and pretty difficult unless you use 2 greenbooks. Best-personality I've taken!

Probably my favorite class of the semester just because Gruber was so enthusiastic and engaging every class period that even though at times the material was frustrating (as Plato and Aristotle can be) she explained it well and offered lots of help for the midterm and final.. clarifies things nicely, connects it to current topics and is just great!

Dr. Gruber is AWESOME! Open minded, intriguing, makes you want to understand and do well, insightful, interesting, motivating. I took her summer course 4 hours 2 days a week and I am SO glad b/c I couldn't have sat thru a class that long w/ anyone else! AND she's FUN! The books are even interesting! Great class, better teacher!

Dr. Gruber's women and film class was VERY interesting, and she kept the classroom atmosphere funny but informative. There are no papers or assignments. The grade breakdown is 45% midterm, 55% final. First half focused on silent film era/melodrama, second on foreign films made by women. Class consisted of power point lecture, then movie.
