This class is a joke, the prof is so unhelpful he does not give a damn about his students getting their books yet or not. He is more concerned about his mailbox getting spammed more than his student getting their books. He does not like immature students, he type all in CAPS, very mature. I wish someone would rip off his CAPLOCKS.

This class totally ruined my GPA. I used to have a 3.7 ;/ He was no help & every time I reached out for help, he replied with sarcasm. I regret not looking him up & seeing his teaching style ahead of time. I read the book, took notes & still failed. Nothing I wrote down or highlighted was on the test! Don't torture yourself. Take someone else.

I love history, but this teaceher teaches NOTHING! Doesnt give you study aids at all! Doesn't assign extra credit if your doing bad. Assigns three chapters per quiz(5 quizes total), and each chapter is about 27 pages on average. You take 5 quizes and he throws the lowest one out. So a total of 120 points possible. And he says he grades off a curve

His 8-week online course consists of 5 quizzes. He drops your lowest quiz score. Each quiz has 30 multiple or T/F questions. He grades on a curve - 90% of top student's score is an "A"; 80% is a "B"; 65% is a "C". By the way, some nerd or cheater will always score 30 out of 30 each quiz so there is no curve. Overall, hard A, easy B, very easy C.

I took both his US 170 & 175 online classes. I got an A in both, but it was not easy. He says he curves, but at least 1 person will score perfect on each test, so ultimately, there is no curve. Time is limited so you don't have time to look in the book for answers. Questions are detailed, so not easy unless you study hard & read thoroughly.

I took the online class and I got a C because history is naturally my weakest link for school subjects. There was very little teacher involvement throughout this short course so I can't really say if Thorne is good or bad. Furthermore, I can't tell if this class may be easier on campus rather than online so future students, beware.

1 quiz covers 3 chapters long. A lot of reading, so it is hard to double check the answer because you don't remember where you read that detail. Can't expect what will be on the test. Sometime it could be a very minor thing that you may pass when you read. Each quiz has 30 question and 40 minutes to do. No extra credit offer...

Took his online summer course. Very difficult! You HAVE to read (and understand) the book in order to do well on the quizzes. There are three, that's your total grade! He claims he curves the grade, but of course someone got 100 each time! (I'm not sure how, since the questions are so tricky) If you want an easy A, do NOT take him!

Trust me! I have taken 57 units and this was my last class! 3.8 GPA and this was the worse class I have ever taken. If your GPA is important, do nt take. Quizzes do not reflect your reading and even though I took this onine & the book infront of me, quizzes r timed with too little time to look things up! You will not get better than a C. Trust ME

DO not take this class this man is the most rude and uncaring professor i have ever met. He is a jerk!!! and is very difficult,I didn't believe the comments when i researched this prof. I still took his class and it was the biggest mistake.Highly recom.taking another professor even at another college.to avoid a problems with this man.

BEWARE! Online class is worthless. I have taken 52 units at GWC and had a 4.0 until this class, got a C. Worked my butt off! Yes, you take 5 quizzes and he drops the lowest, however he grades on a curve and there is always a 100% on each test. No homework, no extra credit. If your GPA is important, stay away. I love history, but take someone else!

I took his class online which wasn't that bad. All you have to do is read the book and take the quiz once a week. Plus he drops the lowest score, which helps. There is no homework, 5 quizes, lowest one drops, and he grades on a curve. Good Luck!
