Comment:
The class should be an easy A as long as you do the assignments. It does involve a lot of presentations and partner/ group theater games and activities, which can be uncomfortable at first. Also be prepared to start every class starts with simple yoga. The final is a self- written monologue memorized and presented to the class.

Class is mandatory, but easy A for Core 4. Everyone I knew got As. Yoga is required to start class. Do some acting, practice your presentations a few times before presenting, and put heart in your performances. You really get to know the people in your class which is awesome.

Really great lady, but her moody-ness can sometimes affect if it'll be a good or bad day for everyone. Get ready to do yoga at the beginning of every class - it's not hard and eventually became a nice routine for everyone. Group projects and a long self-written monologue for the final.

Extremely rude, entitled and opinionated. You have to do yoga every morning in class which becomes slightly ridiculous. Class should be an easy A but you could get a B because she's really picky with grading. Get on her good side, never arrive late, always try to participate and you'll do fine.

She's all over the place and eccentric. She was always trying to impress us with how "worldly" she is. She's kind of unorganized and it may, at times, seem like the class has no point. We do yoga everyday which is nice (sometimes). She is very critical but her directions are often unclear. She was absent a lot because she suffered many injuries .

Diane is very funny and you can see she loves what she does. But for the first month all we did was yoga. After that, every class we have to do yoga. Don't be late or absent, and be ready for her to tear your scenes apart. She tries to enforce her views onto us. She is extremely unorthodox, if you have an interest in theatre, don't take her!!!!!!!!

You can tell she does care about her students. She can be pretty intense and kind of awkward at times, but she means well. Little to no work necessary outside of class other than coordinating group projects. I recommend her class simply because of the atmosphere she creates that forms really cool friendships with other classmates.

Diane was a fantastic professor. She's very informal which is refreshing coming from other classes. She operates things on a first name basis and encourages openness. You even get to do a yoga unit! She pretty much forces you to become friends with everyone in the class… which I'm glad of! I actually met one of my best friends in this class!

Diane is a very critical, engaging, serious, etc. woman. She will push to your limits and beyond. If you are willing to give the effort, you will not be disappointed in what you gain from her teachings. She will instill within you not only knowledge of the craft, but of life itself. Do not label her "too serious"; it's you who's not serious enough.

She should keep teaching Gen Eds. She cares a lot about her students, expects a lot, but is willing to give, too. Amazing class that applies as much to life as to theatre.

I hate teachers that pretend their lame 101 class is Juliard or some seminar or something important. Badgered and humiliated and intimidated students. I'm surprised I got a B. She was really tough, and on one assignment after I finished this "character" she told me to "become" she asked me if I had been acting. Burn! Took everything too seriou

Really smart and articulate. Prof is so serious about her work that some students get angry because she is critical in order to get the most out of them. Tough world out there, Cookies...thank goodness we have a teacher who cares enough to be critical.

Diane is a wonderful teacher. Often she gets a bad reputation because she expects a lot from her students. This is only out of respect for you and dedication to her work. If you come to her class with a good attitude, willingness to work hard and an open mind you'll be blown away by her ability.

Don't take a class from her if you're not willing to work hard. She expects a lot from you, but it makes you a better person. Hypocritical at times, but always takes time out of her day to talk to you. An amazing woman.

The basic goal of the Acting 1 for majors class is to itimidate you and make you hate acting. She teaches the class along with Harvey Doster and both are incredibly rude people. Made several people drop the major altogether.
