Comment:

His teaching style just didn't work for me. I am a visual learner, and he teaches mostly hands-on. There was no clear guidance on what to focus on before tests. Tests were handwritten and difficult to read. He spent most of the class yelling at his students than teaching. Ask questions and he mocks you for the question you ask.

Okay look, he has his moments where he's nice, but I leave this class feeling so stupid every day. He teaches so fast and you basically just fend for yourself. You can get answers right on the tests, but if you don't do the work exactly the way he shows you, you get the problem wrong. I get that it's concept based, but at least help your students

Dr. Holdan is one of the most frustrating and confusing professors I have had at RMU. He is not open to explaining things when you don't understand something or need more explanation. He will more often get mad at students for not understanding something that he barely explained than actually help them. His tests are confusing and hard.

This work in this class has nothing to do with the name of the course. He is so incredibly closed minded and makes students feel stupid. He doesn't care about your grades- he cares that you understand pointless information. No help. Tests have information on them that he claims won't be. Goes a million miles a minute. Would NOT reccomend him.

Okay so Doc is a great guy, pretty funny. However, teaching wise (at least for pre-calc) is pretty much next to nothing. He does not do any formal notes. Also he only grades based on how he thinks you are doing not on work actually done. Once he told me he marks 4 questions wrong on everyones test because he can no matter if they are correct.

Doc is a good professor. Very scatter-brained, but knows his statistics. He gives homework almost every night (usually not-graded) but you will have to put the problems on the board. He's funny and very easy-going; he answers questions during exams.

Doc Holdan is by far one of the best professors to teach. He definitely cares about each of his students and makes sure to learn everyone's name.. very important key to learning. Also quite funny with random jokes or stories, but always gets needed lesson completed. Has an odd grading system, but highly recommend him!

He was kinda weird and crazy but it was entertaining. He assigned homework but didn't check it or grade it. Going up to the board and doing problems got you points. We had a few tests including the midterm and final. He gave study guides for them so as long as you do those you will pass. You need the book for homework problems.

He will bend over backwards to help and teach you. He's a little awkward and seems like he has A.D.D. but he is truly one of the best. He makes groups go to the board and he learned everyones name. He's been teaching longer than we've been alive. He is the best! Go to class, Sit in the front, and talk to him you won't be disappointed. AMAZING.

You HAVE to show up. All four days, every week. You also HAVE to buy the super expensive book. He teaches like a high school class: going up to the board, book homework every night, but he grades you on what you know, not just your scores. He's extremely willing to help. Great teacher, take him if you have the chance.

Holdan is hands down the best professor I've had at my 4 years at the University. He's teaching style is just that TEACHING. Holdan takes the time to make sure everyone in his class understands the material. He is fair and caring. A great person to have support from in future classes. MUST TAKE!

holdan is a great professor, he is very funny, and makes students go to the board, which is actually helpful, he answers any questions you have, and gets you involved in the class. he is probably my favorite professor at RMU, he makes us do dumb things like stand up and draw lines with our hands, and he truly seems to care if you learn the subject

Really funny and great teacher. You're constantly at the board and he goes over almost every question on the tests which he hand writes. He LOVES to sing Backstreet Boys. You never turn in homework just quizzes that will amount to a test in the end and a couple big tests. Really helpful when you go to office hours and ASK QUESTIONS. He loves it.
