Comment:

His lecture style is an acquired taste. He likes to derive where the formulas come from, which is great to know, but hard to follow. He teaches in congruence with the book by explaining in more detail what the book doesn't teach. However, you MUST read the book in order to follow where he is going. He is very knowledgeable and is willing to help.

Comment:

Not a clear instructor. Flies through the material whether the class understands it or not, and has a tough time of getting to the logical level of the class. He is brilliant, but isn't very helpful when it comes to learning complex material, such as upper level physics. Read alot, and still be prepared to make 50-60% on his tests. Good luck

He is know for a "small-man complex." Hard, funny and thinks he knows everything. Ususally will not accept your questions. Hes a genius at what he does but a bad teacher. Expect to read a lot in his classes!

I have had him for numerous classes and he is not only entertaining but also loves what he does. He is always willing to help students out when they show that they were interested.

Dr. Petcher is a genius. He is incredibly smart. If you skim or read his assigned readings you will benefit from this class tremendously. He is hard on tests but is eager to get you through his class well and will help you. He is understanding.

Petcher is a really nice man who knows what he is talking about. If you come to class prepared, then you will understand him. If not, then you will get lost pretty easily.
