Comment:
Lombards lectures usually have nothing to do with the subject. I found myself learning more about him as a person rather than philosophy. I do not recommend this professor if you want good feedback to questions due to his rude remarks and short fuse. He is a very nice man, but not a good professor.

I loved his lectures. It felt weird that I was actually excited to go to class... Very easy for me. Straightforward. He goes over the information numerous of times to make sure you understand it, and he will not continue until everyone understands it. Keep in mind the information is easy, it's just he presents it at a higher level, (verbally).

He is a great professor who is very passionate about the subject he is teaching, there are only a few assignments and two tests (midterm and final) if you pay attention in lecture you should be fine!! His enthusiasm made going to class enjoyable.

He definitely rough when it comes to telling you when your wrong. Hes a no bull kind of person but he does t because he wants you to be better. Others might not enjoy this but I found it rather refreshing. I appreciate teachers who dont coddle their students and demand the best.

This Prof, like others have said, made me hate philosophy. If you like being berated, belittled and treated like you're less than, this man is the man you want as your teacher. Even people who were philosophy majors and seemed to do well were berated constantly. If you're a woman i wouldn't take this class.

This man truly will make you hate philosophy, if you don't speak English to the exact form that he speaks it you will be berated, do not try to challenge him on his concepts at all because they are law, its best to not speak or he'll try to make you feel like an idiot. Take another class for your PL req.

One class would be clear, the next would be lots of rambling. If you are the type of person that asks lots of questions in class, don't take him. He gets annoyed when people disrupt him. If you need to use the bathroom in the middle of lecture, not a good idea either, he will make a snide comment as you leave. Good teacher, but not for everyone.

Comment:
He rambles a lot and the class is boring. Sometimes he has his funny moments but overall repetitive. He answers ques. with more ques. The 4 assignments are fairly easy but the 2 exam makes you think. His review before the exams are helpful but go over definitions. Book isn't absolutely necessary but it's helpful. I used it like 2 times.

Comment:
He speaks in circles the whole lecture. The lecture is completely boring, but do not zone out because he will sneak in important information during his non-stop rambling. He loses his train of thought during his lecture because, like I said before, he just talks in circles. If you have any questions, don't ask them unless you want to be belittled.

This dude knows his stuff. He can be aggressive at times and put his students on the spot, but it forces you to know the material. If you take good notes and try hard on the essays, you should have no problem earning an A. Just don't ask me where the London Bridge is located...

I have no clue why anyone says he is a good teacher. This has been the worse prof at WSU. He lectures his opinion all class long, then yells at anyone that tries to say other wise. It is a very boring class. Please do not take this class. AIM HIGER

My favorite professor at Wayne State. Funny, intelligent, and VERY and I mean VERY helpful! You can tell he is there for his students and wants to make sure each and every one of us understands the material. He is very enthusiastic while teaching and humorous! This guy is what every professor should be like! GET HIM!

He's brilliant and interesting, but you have to be on your game despite how easy the class might seem. Not a ton of work involved but active attention is needed to grasp the concepts. I would highly recommend him!

Incredibly brilliant man. Unfortunately, he thinks so too. Maybe it's his massive ego, or maybe he's really insecure about his clout, but either way the result is a very intimidating, closed minded man.

Cool guy, kind of doesn't have a lot of patience though. I feel like he made the class harder than it should have been. The mid-term was difficult and the quizzes although easier were no walk in the park. With that said I would still recommend Lombard, just for higher level classes, not 1010.

He's hilarious. If you have some Philosophical background, you may come into conflict with him a little, but as long as you can back up your belief, he's perfectly fine... and actually you'll gain a little bit of brownie points because he rarely gets the chance to debate with students fitfully. This is a must take class.
