Comment:

Dr. Barnett's class is a breeze. The content is really interesting but his lectures can get a little dull at times. All exams based solely on his lectures. His test structure makes getting an A super easy, and allows you to absorb small amounts of content at a time to get the bigger picture. He also offers a significant amount of extra credit.

Comment:

Barnett has a sense of humor that is hard to understand, but hes hilarious. Heavy lectures, but what he lectures on is online to access. Definitely have slides open on laptop and take notes there! Book not needed, use slides! His exams are pretty difficult and hes not much help when it comes to questions. Knowledgeable, but goes off topic A LOT.

Comment:

Dr. Barnett is a fantastic and very knowledgable professor! He talked about relevant studies in the world of developmental psychology, promoting a "learning to expand knowledge" instead of a "learning to pass" environment. Sometimes he goes off on tangents, but they're typically relevant and very interesting. He is by far my favorite professor!

His lectures are long and can tend to be boring at times. He is a really nice guy though and his class should be easy to pass with an A. He offers a lot of extra credit help.

In the beginning I did not know what to study for, his lectures were long and drawn out. After asking the class how he could improve he began to focus on the material we needed to zone in on. Come to class and take notes, you should pass. No test are dropped but extra credit is offered. Always willing to help, great teacher.

Very long and boring lectures. Drags out the same topic for half the class. Wouldn't recommend him. It's an easy subject and class but he doesn't make clear what will be on the exam or what we're expected to know.

Easy class. He gives extra credit that really boosts your grade. However, his lectures are extremely boring and slow.

Dr. Barnett is my favorite Psychology professors at Wayne State. He is extremely knowledgeable of the material he lectures and has many in the field experiences that he is willing to share with the class. His tests are based mostly on slides but I would recommend listening to his lecture on Echo if you miss class to prep for exams.

Awesome! He has a cool personality, is witty, funny, has knowledge on the subject. Shares with us his experiments and theories. Helpful power points. The only downside is that he does not offer a study guide.

This was an interesting class. Professor Barnett was a pretty good professor. He has a vast understanding of this topic, and if he doesn't, he's quick to admit it. Although I fell asleep a lot, I did learn a lot while I was awake in the class.

I took professor Barnett for PSY 2400 Developmental Psychology. He was good, but his lectures seemed disorganized and borring. His exams had multiple choice, which were a bit hard because every answer seemed like the possible answer. The essay questions we're "ok". You can get a B in the class w/ notes, but read the book in detail if you want an A!

Yes, this class is MORE boring than a box of hair! But, at the end of the day the practice quizzes account for 25% of the exams, 75% is common sense, and the remaining 25% is pointless info that Barnett wants you to know (names, techniques). The papers are easy, but pointless. Do the extra credit paper, it's an easy 100 points to ensure an A or B.

Barnett is so easy. All the questions from his practice quiz are on the exame practically word for word. Gives a lot of extra credit too. You can hand in extra credit papers on the day of the final exame.

SO BORING.... The only good thing about his lectures is that you can contemplate your existance because you will NOT have the capacity to listen. The tests are very fair though.
