Yes, u will work 4 your grade but come on, stick with the material in an organized way and teach already. I did not pay money to hear your stories and to compare classmates to them. His teaching style is very old and outdated. He is not available & helps the ladies more than anybody. He expects more than what is in the class description.

Seriously ppl who rate Mr.Purcell as hard are ppl who want everything done for them. Purcell doesn't give out grades he makes you earn them. He is very helpful and makes Biology easy. I would take him again and recommend him to friends

Took him for Bio Non-majors and he was real helpful and made the class super EASY and fun. I recommend him to everyone who needs a Biology class!

I took him for FLEX term 2010. He is a good professor. He outlines everything with objectives. Those objectives are given to every student, so it is up to the student to take notes. Once a test did not match the objectives and he changed the test and curved!! Overall great teacher and currently in BIOL 1409 because of it.

Dude needs to retire.He's a bully,cracks mean jokes.He lectures his own material 1 way but tests another way. HEs not helpful at all. His great line"oh u dont need 2 kno that ur not a bio major".Tests r extremely hard.Goes over an outline wont repeat info.He doesnt clarify anything.He always says could be this or that.The class is a waste of $,time

Great teacher, fun lectures and makes class time interesting. Hard tests though, but you'll pass if you put effort into it. Make flash cards, have study groups. Good class, great Prof. No worries. Take him.

I enrolled becayse I heard he was a great teacher, however, he has drastically changed since last year (2008). No longer does a curve, no extra credit, and no notes period on any work. Even with all this, he is still the "easiest" of the BIO teachers, and at least is somewhat helpfull.

He was a great teacher and I enjoyed him alot. He keeps class light and fun. Do the work and do the outlines they help out alot and he may let you use the outlines on the final and they also count for pts on your test too.

This class is very hard but Professor Purcell gives you the tools you need to pass the class. He gives you a chance to get extra credit on all the exams and if you need help he is always there. Thanks for an awesome semester!

Mr. Purcell is sarcastic, but FUN!...i have him at 8:00 in the morning. Studying is a must, dont think u will pass with just his lectures or notes from the lecture because you won't! quizes about once every other week. extra credit on every test. make up exams at end of semester. up to 2 weeks of late work accepted, but you will get points deducted

Purcell is a great teacher! He's very funny and kept us entertained at 8am. He's very organized, gave extra credit on every exam,and even let us use our notes on the final. Good attendence is a must!

LOTS of hands on work! almost whole class was done out of LAB book. Has his notes online. Outlines the test about a week before hand (down to EXACTLY how many questions will be on each topic). 6 EASY extra credit points via article summarys(on test). Easy A for anyone with good study habits. Nice guy.. hates cell phones going off :P

He is a good teacher. He's very flexible, lets you make up tests and assignments. As long as you're trying, he'll work with you as much as you need. He makes class pretty fun. If your cell phone goes off in class or if you have too many absences, he deducts points. If you don't study, you'll fail, but if you study you can get an A. Lots dropped.
