Ed Lavalle is perhaps the best professor I have ever had during my time in Capilano University or even after it. He is truly a caring professor who reminded me of my interest in International Relations by his classes and his European Union study tour, which later on made me major in IR and Poli Sci. He is definitely a mentor and a great person!

I took international relations with Ed and absolutely loved it! His lectures are sometimes boring but it's so and I found myself skipping class occasionally but I didn't skip too often because attendance was 10% of your grade. Highly recommend taking this class if you want a gpa booster and Ed is hilarious.

This was my first politics class, and it was great!. Ed is very helpful. Lots of papers with very flexible dates. Attend every class, be prepared for in-class discussions and do well on papers will get you a high mark. I 100% recommend taking politics with Ed.

I can't say enough good things about this man. Love his eye(s) and his graceful walk. But really, he is truly a man of knowledge when it comes to current events, the EU and international relations. His courses don't exactly have the most perfect structure (no due dates, etc) but if you just do the assignments, you're fine. He's very very very laid back.

Ed is the only teacher in this school worth listening to. Hes a smart guy, take in everything he teaches you. This is one teacher at cap that cares about his students. Ed is like a fine wine thats been put into a room with grape juice. May the force be with you ed.

Ed is the best as it gets in terms of a Prof who actually is involved in his subject. He runs the Canada/EU study tour for all of the Canadian Universities and in 2009 i was tasked by the deputy Ambassador of the Canadian mission to the EU to wake him up during seminars. He has a glass eye that he uses to fake being awake during seminars in Europe.

Ed probably has the best life out of anybody I know: He travels regularly to Europe and teaches great material. Unfortunately, I can't say I learned a lot from his course. The first half was insubstantial and the latter was comprised of student presentations. There were no exams and he allows revisions for the essays! DONT BUY THE TEXTBOOK!

I've had Ed for 2 classes now and I can honestly say that he is by far the best teacher in the political studies dept. In total 4 papers, no exams or quizes. He is really helpful and pasionate about his subject especially for the European Union. Great person overall.

One of my favourite professors, and one of my favourite classes - this man is fantastic in terms of knowledge, interesting facts, and is hilarious without even meaning to be. POL 201 is a great course if you're into current events and politics, I am very happy I took this course.

Best political studies prof at Cap. He makes classes very interesting and is very knowledgeable of world affairs. No tests, only written work, but there's a lot of it. Luckily Ed is very flexible with deadlines. I got to Aug 28 to complete two papers that were due in April. Fairly easy marker, but the assignments weren't always clear.
