Comment:

One of the most condescending professors I've ever had. Had her for a UI class. Passive-aggressively criticizes everything. We had to sketch and write about bad UIs, and if you don't agree with her, prepare for your grade to get slashed. Also, prepare for lectures with many, many anecdotes and rhetorical "No, you're all wrong" questions.

Liz is a super nice professor. she is willing to help and helpful. Although she has a lot of articles quiz, she just uses to highest score as all quiz part.

Her IGME 230 class was amazing except for two major things. One was she rarely did live coding demos in class. The other thing was that she made passing the final what made you pass the class. This was horrible for people like me who are awful at taking tests, and her section was THE ONLY ONE who did this.

Absolute worse professor I've had at RIT. Completely direspectful to students. Has never taken a single coding class which shows in her teaching. Gained absolutely nothing from this class that wasn't taught in others. Avoid at all cost. Absolutely hates deaf students.

I hope the students before me do not make the same mistake as me. Please save your GPA. I wouldn't even go as far as calling it a class. This is Lawley's version of reality. Its almost akin to an emotionally abusive relationship. You show up, she scolds you, and you pray for your GPA & sanity. You have to endure this for 15 weeks. Be wise.

Liz is an amazing professor. People commenting that shes condescending are completely wrong and ignorant. Liz knows what shes doing. She will critique your work and tell you what she thinks is wrong with it, and if design students cant handle it, thats on them. Liz is an easy grader and very kind to all her students.

Passionate about the subject she teaches and encourages passion in students as well. Willing to cover new topics or give help, all you have to do is ask. She expects a lot from students, and sees potential in everyone to be great. Work hard and make sure you are solid on base topics. Great professor!

Liz is a great teacher and is committed to helping out her students who are passionate about the subject. She cares about teaching her students and will always make sure her students understand her material. Her classroom vibe feels casual, and shes easy to contact via slack. Her syllabus gives clear instructions on how to get an A in her class.

Liz simply won't let us forget how much worse our class is compared to her others. "Why is the energy level in here SO much worse?" "You're killing my mood" etc. Came to class to learn to code, left with information I already knew and way too much negativity.

Elizabeth Lawley is one of the worst professors I have ever had. She is incredibly condescending to her students, and it is incredibly clear that she is a tenured professor who is on a high-horse after all these years. She publicly mocks and shames her students, and is a terrible example of what a grown adult should be acting like.

Lawley is an Increadibly condescending and unreliable professor. Eager to flaunt her tenure, lawley spends little time actually teaching instead making students teach themselves. She constantly preaches about not learning by copying, yet copying constitutes 95% of her assignments. She tries to act as an authority in subjects she is no expert in.

She gets mad that her students don't understand concepts and then does demos super fast so you can hardly follow along. She also says the class is easy to pass because her grading system consists of A, C, and F and then gjves you a C because you didnt live up to her bad design standards.

Liz loves to patronize her students. She essentially makes you teach yourself and yet from how much she talks youd expect to learn something from her lectures. She doesnt communicate what she actually wants from you on projects and then throws tantrums. Also lol doesn't know good design and somehow is teaching us it??? Save yourself if you can.

Lawley's class is interesting. She's a nice woman and clear with grading. However, she takes a long time to grade projects or even respond to emails about questions. I handed in a paper that didn't get a grade for about a month. You will have to read A LOT. That said, you use notes on her quizzes and bottom 6 are dropped. Lots of work but not hard.

In my experience, she has been a great professor. She is a very interesting lecturer and easy to understand. Grading policy is pretty lenient, drops bottom 6 of 16 quizzes and let's you use notes

She has assigned 12 hours worth of videos to watch 2 days before there is a quiz on them, I got an email at 9 pm to tell me that my final presentation was due at 9 am and she will promise extra points and candy and then change her mind. All while taking over 2 months to grade things. Avoid this teacher at all costs.

She gave some of more interesting lectures out of the four professors. She seemed pretty apathetic about the studio assignments -- they were mostly just an attendance check. She grades the three projects pretty leniently.

Had her for Intro to Interactive Media. Her lectures were more interesting than the other professors, but the studio work is fairly difficult. You need to learn a lot of stuff on your own. I thought the 3 projects were easy and she graded them easily.
