Dr. Walters is at times extremely hard to follow and its hard to understand what's expected of you - just ask/talk to the TA instead. There's a ridiculous amount of extra credit (20%) thats extremely easy to get. 12 page paper (20%), 3 exams (20% ea), attendance (10%). Overall definitely not a hard class, but Dr. Walters is a bit silly.

Crazy woman, calls herself mommy. possibly the best elective to take though because 3 credits for an A. Go to class and write down what she says, the power points are impossible to follow and don't make sense so DO NOT rely on them. gives pop quizzes for extra credit. also gives extra credit on essay tests

She's a very nice person, very passionate about her lectures. Her powerpoints are a bit unclear, but she posts them online, which helps a lot. Attendance isn't mandatory, but a few extra credit opportunities are given during class. Extra credit in this class could raise your grade 15 points, I'd consider it an easy A because of that.

The class this year had up to 15% worth of extra credit points up for grabs, so by the time finals came I only needed a 40% to get an A. Class is unique and interesting, but she doesn't have very clear lectures/powerpoints which make it somewhat confusing. Don't need to go to class, but the extra credit points are given out during a few lectures

Lectures are pretty boring. She is very knowledgeable and nice but is a very poor teacher. 2 tests with a monument info day and an essay day. Monument day is rough, two pics are shown on projector for less than five minutes, you must write down all info and move on when she switches it. 5 page paper on monument of your choosing, horrible.

Dr. Walters seems like a caring person who is knowledgeable in her field, but she is a terrible professor. Her lectures and notes are confusing as they're not given in structured sentences. It's also worth mentioning that she is zany and quirky. She has called herself "Mommy" in class twice now, it's a bit uncomfortable. I don't recommend her.

She's a very intelligent lady, but not a very adept professor. I had no idea what to expect going into the first exam... the format was weird and hard to work with for the first one. Her lectures are either very interesting or a complete snooze fest, depending on the day. However, she really wants to see her students learn, not just memorize.

Dr. Walters is a great person. She's caring and passionate about the subject material. However, she is not a good teacher. She's scatterbrained and doesn't know how to make effective powerpoints. It's not hard to get an A, but the material is boring and lengthy so be prepared to study. Just pray you get a good TA and show up.

Dr. Walters is an extremely nice lady, and she definitely knows what she is talking about. Unfortunately, she has no idea how to teach. If it is just for gen-ed or you don't care to learn anything, you're fine. But, if it is for your major, I would highly recommend not taking her class.

Very scatterbrained. It's an easy A class once you figure out what she wants. Here's a hint: on the essay exams, she doesn't want you to actually write an essay! Each essay should only be three paragraphs. In the first sentence, state each monument's relationship to the prompt. For the rest of the paragraph: ignore prompt; vomit info on monument.

She is a very quirky, yet vibrant person. Most of your notes will be more of what she says than what is on her slides because her slides are too vague. The quizzes are very straight forward and she gives extra credit on those as well as the exams. Course reserves should be used as a supplement, not to skip class. Exams are 2 written essays.

I have never met a more reasonable or helpful teacher! She loves what shes does and can get side tracked. Go to class and take notes ( it's in the syllabus). If you take notes and make connections it's easy to pass. She cares about what you've LEARNED. :-) If you don't show up then you miss out on extra credit and will need to study more at night.

I was so afraid after the first day of class because she was all over the place, but I stuck with it and she turned out to be great. She is always willing to help and lets you redo papers until you get an A. Tests were very doable. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Defiantly take any class offered with her! She is passionate about teaching too!

I guess she is too good at her field that makes her talking too much about the crazy details that students don't care. She directs a project that goes to Egypt to actually dig stuff which not that many ppl in the get to do. Talk to her if you have difficulty she will actually help you and give you better grade if you improve.
