Comment:

He believes in indoctrination as opposed to educating. He does not allow for dissenting opinion, especially if you're discussing racial issues. There are so many quality professors at MU - this guy has literally lost his marbles. Don't subject yourself to his narrow, bigoted viewpoints. Avoid taking a class with him, if you can.

This professor just talks the entire class. It is beyond boring and he does not use any bit of technology. He doesnt use ecampus, email, anything. He is too old fashion and does not connect with the students. He gives zero assignments and since his tests are so difficult its impossible to pull up from a low test grade. Awful class&teacher.

I took American National Government with Professor Nappen and I've never been more bored in my entire life. All he does is stand in front of the class and talk. You have to write down everything he says. He writes nothing on the board. He just stands there...and talks...for an hour and fifteen minutes...

His class is terrible. It's a straight lecture the whole time then you get about 2/3 tests during the semester and that is all. He doesn't shutup and at is extremely boring

This class is difficult. He knows his stuff and drags on with detail after detail. It is hard to no what to remember and what not too. You'll have to study everything he says because the tests will be EVERYTHING he says. I couldnt get past the first test and there are 3 all year. I would NOT recommend him. Do NOT need book for class.

every class is a long and boring lecture. you better take good notes because that will be all you need. never used the book. if you really pay attention you will hear he makes a lot of funny jokes. only grades are the 2 tests and final. overall easy but painfully boring.

straight lecture, just talks. must attend class, moves quickly & you will use every bit of info he gives you so take notes. very sweet & smart, but boring & tests are all open ended. no grades except test grades, must study. dont need books if you take good notes. i love law but really considered dropping this class. great professor, just boring.

First, don't buy the books if you're taking him for Constitutional Law. He doesn't even mention them. But Dr. Nappen is like, one of the smartest professors I have ever had. He knows EVERYTHING. His class consists of killing yourself trying to take down everything he says... but somehow I enjoyed the class and I would definitely recommend him.

Professor Nappen is brilliant. Lectures are from memory, and it is amazing the information he gives. He expects his students to succeed. Although a little boring at times, he is a source of great information. Only 2 texts and a final. Tests are hard, so be sure to take good notes.

Nappen is omnipotent. Lectures are a bit dry, but all test info comes from them and if you pay attention, you can catch a lot of off color & hilarious jokes, although I have yet to determine whether these are intentional. If you need to ask a question, however, make sure that it is VERY specific, as he tends to wander very easily and for a while.

Nappen is an amazing Professor in the sense that he knows EVERYTHING. He will not keep you on the edge of your seat, but if you like the subject you'll appreciate a prof. like him. Notes and close attention to lectures are the most important parts of getting a good grade. I did not use the "recommended" text at all.

Nappen knows the law. Lecture notes, what are those? This guy dosn't need anything to teach he already knows everything! In contitutional law, he knows all the cases,he could tell you the defendants hair color if you asked. Ridiculous amount of knoweldge. Perhaps a genius. Take this class if you actually want to learn and pay attention!

This guy knows everything about the United States Government, and its history. He specializes in law, and sure knows it. He can be helpful if you ask, and he knows EVERYTHING. Kind of boring lecturer, but pay attention and you will get an A, no doubt.

Good teacher, he really knows his stuff. Hes a very nice guy and theres almost no homework. There are only two tests the whole semester and as long as you study a decent amount youll do well. Take his class, hes a really good professor!

His tests are quite extensive but by just paying attention, they are passable. His two journal summaries on the final were kind of pointless though. Money..

Dr. Nappen is seriously one of the smartest men I have ever met. He knows EVERYTHING about politics. I found him extremely interesting and would gladly and enthusiastically take him again. Definitely pay attention and take notes. He's the best!
