You must study in order to expect a good grade in the class. He gives out many handouts that are extremely helpful. There is no need for the textbook unless you want to use it for even more practice. He is really nice and if you show up to his office hour, he helps you so much He even helps you correct your tests in order to study for the final.

I absolutely love him! he's so old and cute! but to be honest if you don't have a good chemistry background, do not take him. He is not very good at explaining things. However, he provides a lot of hand outs which pretty much explain everything.

I loved taking Bierman for chem. He cares so much about his students & genuinely wants students to succeed; always willing to answer questions & help, especially if you are struggling. I loved his stories which made it very helpful to remember material. He made me really enjoy chem & I HIGHLY recommend taking him; he's one of my favorite professors

Professor Bierman (said Beerman) is one of the best teachers I have ever had! He makes chemistry funny with his stories, which help me to remember the information. He is an adorable old man that cares a lot. Although chemistry is a hard subject if you do all the worksheets he gives out in class then the exams are no big deal. Definatly take him!

I hate chemistry but I really enjoyed professor bierman's class. The class was a bit boring at times but if you pay attention you will catch a lot of great humor. Do the optional homework worksheets and you will be fine on the exams because that's where he gets a lot of his questions. Does not use the textbook.

Before the class, I wasn't looking forward to Chem. But he is very helpful and tries to make class interesting. His lectures are very detailed and he answers all your questions. Tests are fair. If you study and go to class you will do well. I got a 3.5, and I really learned to enjoy Chem.

If you know a lot about Chem, then this prof is a breeze for you because he doesn't cover any Chem. So if you take him, prepare to spen A LOT of time in the LRC. However, I know all about his family tree, who the drinkers are, which kids were hyperactive, etc. If you need actual teaching in Chem, then Mrs. Dunstan is who you're looking for.

he is the cutest old man i have ever seen. loves chemistry and knows what he is talking about. he gets off topic and tells stories a lot but they usually relate to what he is teaching. he made me actually enjoy chemistry. i strongly suggest his class. he is very wiling to help. the tests are not bad if you do his ditto sheets.

This guy is your grandpa. He teaches like a highschool teacher, tells goofy stories, lectures you on drinking, and provides experiments to illustrate the concepts. The tests aren't the easiest, but he gives you all the worksheets you'd ever want (do them!) He also curves the tests if he thinks a question was unfair, so you can get over 100%.

Aaawww. he is so adorable. such a nice old guy that reminds you of your grandfather. he tells lots of stories and jokes that are cute. very fair grader. he doesnt tell you this but he curves the tests. NEVER any checked homework but the optional packets he does really really help. he's nice and easy and happy to help.

Adorable old man who will stay after class and answer your questions. Let's you know what will be on tests and quizzes. Always do *optional* homework and you will be fine. Class only really got hard in the last month, but it's pretty easy to grasp. He makes the class worth it, i love him!
