If you require at least some organization, don't take a class with this professor. She constantly changes the book list and syllabus, and even forgot to order one of the books.

Comment:
She is a very sweet professor who really does care about the material and want you to learn, but she assigns entirely too many novels to read in two day chunks. The syllabus was changed at least 5 times and I really dislike the course. I feel guilty because she is so nice..

Comment:
Brilliant professor with many years of experience. She is incredibly kind and approachable and really cares about her students. She even baked us a cake the day of the final. Very fair- simple attendance, participation in discussions, and completion of the fairly basic writing assignments will result in a good grade.

her heart is in the right place, but she gets off topic a lot and sometimes one is unable to follow her thought process or teaching patterns

Thoughts are very scrambled and it can be very hard to follow. However, she is a very intelligent professor. Very much against profanity so she will steer clear of any topics such as sex and cursing. Her teaching habits are hard to follow and she often gets lost in her own tangents.

Comment:
Prof. Boos is a wonderful professor in the sense that she is dedicated and intelligent. However, her seminar discussions are where the problems arise. Whether it's one on one or to an entire class, her communication skills suck, especially for an english prof! She's difficult to understand and always unclear, making the material and class suck.

Comment:
The personal is the political; and the literary is, as Boos would imply, a little of both. Sitting in her class is like getting a major sociopolitical manifesto maxim by aphorism, which sometimes feels hackneyed, sometimes contrived, but is always (thanks to her) brilliant in its unparalleled energy and experience.

Awful prof!! I will never take a class taught by her again and I dont think anyone should. She is very spacy, what is expected is unclear, she doesnt actually "teach" but expects other students who know just as much as you do to give meaningful insights in group discussion. awful class cant wait for it to be over! take if you want an easy class

Florence is the SWEETEST teacher I've ever had. And she has such a wealth of knowledge in every subject. Sometimes it seems like she's spacy, but really, she's just thinking deep thoughts. Highly recommended!

Amazingly nice woman! Was always well informed and always willing to help her students. I often felt bad if the class didn't participate for her, she deserved all of our attention at all times. Take one of her classes, it's worth it.

This is the best professor I have ever had anywhere. She truly cares; she's a brilliant scholar; she's a monolith in the field. Take anything from her - she's just perfectly wonderful as a person and as a teacher.
