Comment:

This prof is really funny and relatable. But this class REQUIRES you to read quite a bit. A typical lecture would be just a deep discussion of the chapters you were supposed to read and thats about it. Attendance isn't a huge deal but don't skip TOO much because 10% of the grade is attendance and participation. Overall good class tho!

Professor Karem is the best English teacher I have had during my undergraduate studies. He has a unique gift of balancing the students. he challenges you and supports you at the same time. That's what I call love!

Though I wasn't excited to read all the works he assigned, he certainly gave plenty of pop culture references to keep his students involved and entertained. He had each student teach a lesson on different works so be prepared to give a presentation.

Dr. Karem is one of the best professors that I have ever come across. He is extremely funny and easy going. He has very clear expectations and gives great feedback and ideas for papers. The discussions are always great and doesn't hold the text to one interpretation. I would take him again in a heartbeat.

Such a good professor. Made subject matter interesting and was easy to follow. Prepares you well for his midterm and final. Papers are easy and he will give you feedback prior to submission if you ask. Very nice guy. Funny. Would talk from him again in a heartbeat. Best English class I've taken at CSU.

His class was fine. He's funny. Need to buy multiple books for reading and discussing! he is a tough grader. Exams consist of a few true or false, short answers, long answers questions and mini essay question! Be prepared to write. Also don'r forget to buy a good penpencil :)

A great professor, the best professor I've had. He's genuine, intelligent, has high but reasonable expectations. I had him for 2 classes, one of them being my Senior Sem. class. One of the requirements for the class is a 20 page paper. He made the paper seem not as overwhelming as some 8 page papers I have had to write for other lower level classes

Dr. Karem is amazing. Very excited to teach and talk about this subject. Great knowledge, concern and devotion to material and students. Learns every student's name even in a class of 70 or more. This man exemplifies what college and teaching is all about. Attendance is obviously mandatory but easy to get an A. Definitely take his classes!

I am no longer at csu and still I will always remember what a wonderful and exciting teacher Dr.Karem was. He really pulls you into the books and always draws on some related topic in pop cult. HOT TOO? You bet! What could be better in life than talking about books and pop culture with such a hottie?
