I am in Gales intermediate painting class and I am so happy with how my paintings are turning out. Gale is incredibly helpful with different techniques. I also really like that she is knowledgeable in art history and is always recommending different artists for me to reference. I am super happy with Gale. I so recommend taking her class.

I believe that Gale Antokal is a wonderful professor. I have taken her a few times and although she is a challenging mentor. I absolutely appreciate what she has done for me as a student. She is caring and has a heart of gold. She wants her students to succeed and realize their potential. I really recommend any art student to take her courses.

Gale is a great professor. She works mainly one on one with students and really pushes them to be an even better artist than they thought they could be. She takes students under her wing and makes sure they get taken care of in the program and also helps with networking after graduation. Put in the effort and you will benefit from working with Gale

i'd heard Prof. Antokal really pushes you, and teaches you a lot. i didn't find this to be true at all. we had a lot of trouble communicating.

She made me cry once, but I have NEVER learned so much from one person. Makes you push yourself. Only need to be there one day a week. Must push out minimum of 2 drawings a week. Extremely helpful and will teach you technique you never knew existed.

Gale is my top art teacher at SJSU. I understand how some students were turned down by her methods, but I liked it. She always had a decent balance of theory, examples, and demos to support the work to do. I love Gale because she is one of the few teachers who would push you through your work; she does not stick to the "teacher game". I am not into drawing, but she got me hooked in expressive drawing. I’ve had 8 art teachers in the past; Gale Antokal has been by far the best. She is an effective communicator (rare attribute for an art teacher), knowledgeable and masterful in the arts. More importantly, she's a friendly teacher with a sense of humor, and NOT Stubborn like the rest. AllAbouTheLine.
