He's a great professor and he made design a lot more interesting. Everyone in D1 respected him and thought he was an a amazing guy. I like the way he talks in analogies that make it easier for the students to understand his thought process.

If you can’t explain it simply then you don’t know the material well enough. A muddy teaching style is clearly a strange an attempt to boost his ego. Sad. His critiques are confusing at best and hurtful at worst. If you have the misfortune of having him, head up arch is cool and UF has great professors!

McGlothlin is concerned with impressing with his 'intellect' rather than teaching. Instructions were inconsistent, purposefully complicated, leaving most confused and on your own. HE prides himself on criticizing but the buck stops there. Grades with iron-fists. Shouldn't teach young designers, Destroys enthusiasm, creativity. He is a Total Dbag

Prof. McGlothlin is an outstanding professor if you are self-motivated. He won't hold your hand and push you through your project like many of the other professors at UF will. He is vague on purpose. If you ask him direct questions he will answer them. People who ask vague questions get vague answers

poor teacher. not clear in verbal expression. you kind of get the feeling that he has a set speech about context or program (or whatever broad architectural characteristic that seems to fit) that he recycles back to you. quite arrogant once you get to know him. definetly would not recommend, unless you want to lose your interest in architecture.

Nice guy, easy to talk to yet difficult to understand sometimes. Very understanding. Helped make D1 fun but takes grading very seriously. He's very smart and likes to use big words.

He's very easy-going and understanding when conflicts come up/work load gets heavy. Sometimes he's a little vague, but he'll talk with you until you understand the concept. Good sense of humor, studio wasn't the torture it usually is...Says "clear as mud." a lot. Has cute kids, brought us cookies.
