Comment:
Professor Agnarsson is someone who really wants his students to pass and give huge curves to his exams. If you do the homework, you should be able to get an A, otherwise, the class is average in terms of difficulty. Professor Agnarsson is a light-hearted guy who makes jokes through his lectures, but the problem is people don't laugh.

Very lecture heavy, but not much content in the lectures . Tests are hard , and often dont cover content in the review , but there is a curve.

Dont take him if you want to learn. I learned nothing from his class and got an A because he curves every exam by like 30-40 points. You learn more in recitation than you do in his class but hes a nice guy and if you dont need calculus 3 then definitely take him just to get the credits

You should reconsider before signing up for his class. He's great, but his tests are in the beyond difficultly level. If your math skills are poor, you will not pass the class despite he has generous grading policies. I did extremely well in AP Calculus AB at high school in addition to MATH113 at GMU, but I still struggled in this class.

With him, you will need to study really hard. Tests problems are extremely tricky, so you are required to have algebraic skills to solve them. They are all covered in the notes, so make sure you focus on those. I liked his class even though I didn't do well as I expected. I'm sure I'll do much better next time I take him. I hope to take him again.

Dr. Agnarsson teaches in an advanced level and he posts notes on the website before class so that you can preview. His grading system is very lenient, but his tests are so difficult that everyone fails. I could have gotten A if I practiced all example problems from the notes. Make sure you do that. He does curve.

Professor Agnarsson is a fairly good Professor. He could be a little more confident with his teaching. Sometimes his logic is hard to follow for some students. His tests are also relatively difficult but he typically gives a generous curve. Outside of all that, I enjoyed his lectures and would happily take him again.

Professor Agnarsson is a really smart professor. Almost too smart. He teaches things at such a high level that it is hard to follow what is going on sometimes. The exams are hard but if you study his notes you will do well. The trick is to fully understand his notes and use the HW as practice. HW is not too important but his lectures are the key

Geir Agnarsson was one of the kindest teachers that I have ever had period. He really wants everyone in his class to be successful. That being said, the classes that he teaches are typically pretty difficult to begin with, and some people do not make the cut. By the way, he curves :)) :) :)

The class is super difficult if you cant keep up with his pace and dont understand his messy notes. If his noters were actually clear I feel like the class would be a lot easier but since he has a such a messy hand writing its super hard to understand what he's trying to do. I recommend do all the homework and pay attention to lecture.

I thought I was going to fail this class but then I realized his exam questions are based off his lectures notes. Master them, and master all the problems on his notes and you will do well. TB hw didn't really help

Test's are really tough, but he gives partial credit and curves. Gives homework, but it's not required to do it. Most lessons are pre-written, and can be found online, so if you miss class, you won't be missing much. Great professor, really nice guy.

His tests are hard, but he curves, so that 45% of the class gets A/B On top of that Your final letter grade for this course will be based on RCT Quiz 20% + CA 10% + EX 70%, where the exam grade EX will be the largest number of the following: 1: MT1 20% + MT2 20% + FL 30% 2: MT1 20% + FL 50% 3: MT2 20% + FL 50% 4: FL 70% Hence easy A.

GET READY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL MATERIAL. Here is an overview for passing the class with a great grade: you will go through A LOT in one semester, so make sure you keep up with the class. Every single quiz is based on homework problems that he does the week before, so make sure you understand everything he is doing and follow-up.

Take Crossin. He make math more confusing than it ever has to be. I love math and I'm good at it (or at least my grades tell me so), but he made it redonkulous. On two of the 4 tests, he curved it so much that a 43% was an A... When the passing rate is that low, does it not have a little bit to do with the professor?

The class goes extremely fast, so I spent a lot of time with the book. His notes are taken before class so he whips through the pages very quickly. Also, when this class is on chapter 6, most other sections are starting on chapter 3. He makes mistakes on the board a lot. He speaks to the smartest in the room, and test averages are in the 40's.

Agnarsson is too difficult. For whatever reason he makes this class as challenging as he's possibly allowed. If he is the only teacher available for a class you need to take, wait until next semester.

Gier is too difficult. He is too intense and unapproachable to ask questions in class. Tests don't often look like review sheet. Your entire grade is based on about 15-20 questions. Trying to follow his lectures and hand written notes will only make you feel more hopeless and confused throughout the semester. Avoid at all costs.

Trust me, take someone else if you are not good at math. He is nice but he does not know how to teach very well, as his lectures are confusing. He is a teacher that knows all the material himself very well but has a hard time teaching it to others. He has weekly quizzes that sometimes has nothing to do with what you have learned, and no calculators
