Comment:

I had Dr. Mecca for the lab portion of physics 201. He was the most vague teacher I have ever had. Does not explain clearly how to do the labs and then leaves for long periods of time during the lab. Also makes you feel stupid for asking questions. I had an A in the lecture part of the class but my lab grade brought down my final grade to a B-

Comment:

Assignments lacked direction and Dr Mecca responded with a degrading answer when asked for explanation. Many students left the class upset. Also, the test average was in the 55 range, but he ends up scaling. He had a negative attitude and made it clear that he hated non-science majors. He also bragged a lot. I got an A but it was very tough.

This class was awesome -- super relevant to real-world, lots of good stories about Ghana too and practical applications. It is hard though too - only take it if you're a hard worker!

Not a good teacher. He is very full of himself, and is very rude to his students. Easy enough class, but he is just extremely rude to his students, and is not willing to help out. I will recieve an A- or A, but I still just couldn't stand his rude, egotistical attitude.

He's super smart and is doing a ton of interesting things outside class too. The class itself is good - some of the students seem to slack off, but that's their own problem - Dr. Mecca is a great teacher.

Class was great! He's a genius....really creative ideas to solving problems. I've heard a lot about his work in Ghana and that he's making a class about physics for third world countries or something....sounds awesome. But yeah, class is hard as expected from a college class, but not overwhelming.

Mecca is a great guy. his science of sound and music class, which he created, and LOVED it (and I hate science). everything we do in his class holds real world application, we even got to analyze the acoustics of Saint Peter's in Rome during class. The in class assignment is 45% and there is no final, just a final project making your own instrament

This class consistently turned a good day into a bad one. The workload is pretty light, but the difficulty exists in the lack of instruction and direction by Dr. Mecca. You will get daily workshops to complete with little to no time to complete them. He expects everyone to immediately understand a lesson and to apply it right away. Awful class.

Had Professor Mecca a few times, and really liked him. When I was deciding what to major in, his class made me choose physics. Really eccentric - tells lots of great stories and jokes. The material itself is difficult, but he's very approachable. Good teacher.

I've had Professor Mecca twice, and the first class I took with him made me want to major in physics. Yes, the class is hard, but only because the material is hard-if you spend the time doing what he asks, and seeing him for help if needed, you won't get the grades that make these people complain here. He is incredibly smart, and has great stories.

Dr. Mecca is a wonderful man. He is extremely helpful and exceptionally kind. Those who complain about their grades simply don't understand the method to his genius. Great guy, great course. Highly recommended!

He was awful. The worst teacher I have ever had at PC. He has definitely made people in the class cry. WIll not give you extra help and expects everyone to be physics majors or something. Really rude and gives rediculous assignments with little direction. Not good in any way

Its too late to turn back engineering majors but if there ever was a reason to this class is it. confusing lectures, relentless with ridiculuous amounts of work that he brutally grades. not a bad curve and u will learn a good deal but u will not have any social life during this class. smart guy tho
