Comment:
Great lecturer but exams have multiple choice that are weighted almost the same as long answer. This means that they room for error and part marks is minimal. The tests boil down to if you get 1 or 2 questions wrong you arent passing the exam.

I have to say he is really lazy, most questions in exams are multiple choice so that you cant get even 1 point if you did the wrong decision. Terrible prof, he is useless, hard exams. Avoid if possible

I don't really learn much from this course. Most of the content is easy. The professor is very friendly, caring and able to make every concept clear. So, if you just want to boost your GPA, then choose this course. If not (you really wanna learn something), try MATH 217.

He cares about his students. He's always there for his students. Gives tips and advice in his notes which are well-structured and have examples well laid out.

Sorry to say, but tokarsky was one of the worst profs i have had for a math cource. He writes on the white-board and doesnt use a microphone and that right off the bat makes life hard for students. Then again his notes are full of theory and absolute trash examples, u cant pass the class if u study just from his notes.

If you have any interest in geometry, take it with Tokarsky. He is difficult, but fair, and oh so passionate about the subject. This course has a lot of really cool results but relies heavily on MATH241.

Comment:
As other people have stated he does not use the projector or use a mic making it extremely difficult to try to learn during his lectures as half the time you will be trying to determine what his chicken scratch on the whiteboard says. Also spends probably 30% of class time on proofs which are useless for any of the tests you will write.

He doesn't write on the projector or use a mic, so if you're sitting in the back you might as well leave because there's not point in wasting time trying make out what he's writing on the board. He does a lot of theory in his class and doesn't do a lot of examples related to the assignments. So yeah I wouldn't recommend his class.

Comment:
Is very stubborn and refuses to use either a mic or projector. Therefore , we must rush into the class ten minutes early to get a sufficient spot. If you are at the back of the class you might as well leave as you won't see or hear a thing. His lectures are very proof dense and don't seem to help with the given questions at all. I would def avoid.

GET OUT! No notes (writes ONLY on the white board), exams are hard (had to go fight for more marks). He focussed on so much theory there were barely any examples. Didn't open the textbook once.

All I can say is that if you are in George's class- GET OUT. He explains everything through theory and does not give helpful examples. I had to take a math seminar on the side to even pass this class. His tests were extremely difficult and he did not prepare me to be successful. He writes by hand on the whiteboard making it hard to read and focus.

It's super difficult to ask him questions outside of his office hour, won't answer email by any chance. He messed up one of his sample exam question, I asked about it after class and he got angry! Jeeze! In his sample exams, he solves everything in the simplest way ever, but if you do that like him in his exam you get a 0. Class average is 2.0

Unless youve taken geometry in high school, or are majoring in math, DONT take this course with George. Im a straight A student and only managed a B with him; giving this course every second of attention I had to spare. He is incredibly unhelpful (his advice for the midterm was dont bother practicing, just know your notes) and exams are hard.

Comment:
Having not taken calculus in high school I was definitely worried about this course. Tokarsky was pretty hit or miss when it came to each different topic covered within lecture. Midterm was somewhat fair, pretty difficult though. The final was pretty rough. Bottom line, if you've taken calculus before you'll like him.

Tokarsky is good if you have taken calculus in highschool, because he teaches as if you already know what he is talking about. However, if not you will struggle with his course. Compared to other profs though he is one of the better ones.

a lot of homework. His homework are not printed out but in handwriting format. His lecture is pretty clean and interesting, but if you wanna get a better grade or a easy semester, avoid him.

Moves very quickly through concepts, and his lectures dont focus on the key problems youll see on the tests. Hes friendly and seems to show a strong passion for math but his ability to explain concepts is mediocre at best.

Knows the material really well, however, wastes time in class through writing down rules/theorems and making students copy, instead of doing more example problems. HATES CELLPHONES, will call you out for using one in class. Math 100 is a tough consolidated course, take a better prof or you will be at a disadvantage for the exams!

Comment:
George is a passionate geometer, though his passion is a bit subdued at times. He covers everything you need to know in the lectures, and not all material is found in textbook. He makes geometry a lot of fun, though he's a very tough grader and has quite high expectations. This is not unreasonable.
