Comment:

A ton of work for an online class. Gives terrible grades with no explanation why. Answers emails quickly, but can be very rude if she doesn't like the question. Papers due weekly, and huge projects due at the end of the semester.

Comment:

Her course is set up as a writing enriched class without the "WE" designation. There is a tremendous amount of work for a general education class. She requires at least 350 words for discussion boards, there are several quizzes, a midterm, a paper, and a final exam. This class is way over the top. I would not recommend it at all.

Comment:

Dr. C is one of the best professors I have had at UNC-Pembroke. She is very good at explaining difficult concepts and engaging the class in deep, analytical discussions. She is a tough, but fair, grader. She's brilliant but also laid back -- not pretentious like some professors can be. Her class was so much fun! Wish I could take her again.

Very harsh grader. You are not free to use your interpretations of the readings, she has to agree or you have to go with her suggestion. On the other side, She is nice and funny and very knowledgeable in her area. Take her if your GPA is not an issue...

She was a really good professor. Most of class was just discussion of readings. She incorporated a lot of the writers' philosophies into our lectures. She was really open to new ideas. Very helpful both in class and during office hours. Not flexible about due dates or missed assignments. I would love to take another of her classes.

This class was great!! She made class fun and you could tell she loved her job! I wish I could have taken her for more classes because she was so helpful and nice. She wasn't that tough of a grader either. At the end of the semester she said that I "had produced great work"! That made me feel awesome!! She excepts lots of work but all in all is a great professor!

Comment:

Cannata is one of the best professors at UNCP. She has a genuine interest in her students, she helps you as much as possible, and most importantly you will learn a lot from her class. I had her for a few classes, all of which have been amazing learning experiences. Her grading may be tough, but if you do the work, you'll get what you deserve.

She assigns alot of reading, but it's not too overwhelming. Her quizzes were easy if you read the material and her papers aren't too hard if you start early and ask questions. Her attendance is enforced but she doesn't really make you participate in discussions since that's all the class is. The midterm/final are weird formats so study in advance!

Good teacher. Cares about her students. My papers were harshly graded though. She's one of those that puts "Great Job" on your essay and gives you a C+ on it instead of a B or an A-. Lit is an elective.. come on!! lol Overall I enjoyed her

She is a very helpful person when it comes to your papers and she makes the concepts in class very easy to understand. All in all she is a great teacher
