His tests followed his notes and study guides well. He is extremely monotone during lectures and his labs are basically 3 hour lectures. Will on occasion go off on tangents about a topic that won't be related to class.

Comment:

Really knows his material. Sometimes his labs are more lecture than hands-on, but overall, a great bio course. I took this 4 years ago and I'm not in pharmacy school and the concept he taught really laid the foundation for what we've learned at this point in grad school. May seem hard to listen to but grading is fair and he will help if you ask.

For a Bio 115 course I expected to have a much more energized professor. He loses people throughout his lectures, and his lab class is full lecture with 20 minute labs. I do not recommend him.

Dr. Wilcox is an awesome professor! His summer microbiology class is one of the best courses I've ever taken in college. Lectures were a little boring at times, but the lab is very interesting. Exams aren't too bad, just do the study guide and you will be fine.

I had this teacher for bio 102 and the lab. I am very good at biology and got A's on all his tests. He is very boring to listen to at times, but not always. He uses examples from newspapers or science magazines that apply to what he's covering. He provides study guides for his tests as well.

Dr. Wilcox is an extremely knowledgeable man. His lectures were boring at times, but he really knows the material very well. His test's were straight forward, but they did require more studying than just the night before. His labs, on the other hand, were long and most of the material covered was never even on the tests.

Really liked this class, despite starting at 8:30am. My section was fairly large for a PSC class, but he still knew everybody by name after 2 weeks. The evolution vs creation discussion always got old, but aside from that I liked his lectures. He asks questions during lecture and expects answers. I got an A on each exam; just pay attention.

Dr.Wilcox is very smart.I t bio proffesor and he is the only one that seems he knowss his stuff 100%.Hes class is hard is bio,,if you are rude sleep in class and dont show up to class there is goin to be problems.All this people that comment bad stuff are just mad cuzz he does not tolerate people who dont want to learn.Great Proffessor

This class really wasn't hard. If you read over the material for the test the night before, you usually did pretty good; however, as a teacher, he's rather boring. It'd be easy to fall asleep in this class, especially at 8:30 in the morning, due to the lack of energy in the lecture. Even the labs were like 3 hour lectures.

He knows his stuff, but should probably use his own outline so he knows what's on it. He doesn't even listen to you unless you're his star pupil, so just don't bother. If you need help in his class, look elsewhere.

Biology is a hard subject in itself and this teacher can be very long-winded, but he knows what hes talking about and if you ask him to explain better then he is willing to explain everything further. If you actually study and actually work, then you will do well in this class.
