I took Frau Cartys online class and everything was laid out clearly and consistently. She gives you all the materials you need to learn the material, gives thoughtful feedback, and is a fair grader. Exams are challenging, but are an easy pass if you study the material. Love the language even more because of her

I have never take a German class before. DON'T DO IT!! No feedback on how you can improve. Doesn't email student who are struggling in class or talk to them. You will be using other sources. No help on how to pronounce word. Only take this class if you had the background. Her video do not help. You are warned. If you want, only take her on campus.

I have never taken any German classes before. I have no German language background. Has her online course laid out with many options to help you learn. However if you are having a hard time to understand and comprehending german. She does not give you the proper feedback to help you. I've had to aggravator her through emails for Assistance

I took the online class. It was definitely challenging but Frau Carty gave us lots of resources to help learn on our own. The videos she posts have explanations and examples and help a lot. She's also great about answering e-mails - provides complete, detailed information. The text, workbook, and audio were excellent; you can buy them used online.

Very nice professor, but the online course is extremely hard! I would recommend to take an in person class offered by either Dr. March or Prof. WandreyAikens. I had prof. Wandrey for 101/102 and Dr. March for 201/202. Both very helpful!

I'm taking this class online. Professor Carty is very helpful, and I think that she is very fair, though not necessarily easy. She always answers my questions and grades my homework promptly. While I highly recommend this professor, I do not recommend taking classes in an online format.

Prof Carty was great, but taking language on-line was not. It was the end of the semester before I found that NVCC didn't pass on my homework b/c of background stationery, ie I took tests with no homework feedback. Prof Carty was very helpful when we found out what happened. So take a real class, she's fine and very knowledgeable.
