Comment:

I took this class online, but any sort of interaction I had with Dr. Hodge through email was fairly unpleasant. He was very snappy and rude. I watched all of the lectures online and it was a waste of time. He also was very rude to the students in his lecture hall. This class is a very easy A+, but the lectures do not relate to the exams whatsoever

He is awful, has no respect for his students or profession. Lectures are unbearable, but you can pass with a B without going to class, its majority self-taught

This class was primarily a lecture class. Since it was online I watched recorded lectures from his class. He does a great job of explaining and making things interesting. He can be a pretty funny guy too! Homework quizzes are time-consuming but as he always says: they definitely work.

Comment:

He seems to be the kind with a strange ego of enjoying being difficult for students. A's in all my other classes but a grade in this course that only reflects busy work; not the energy, hours and studying I put in. Test/exam grades show I was understanding it well. This is not right, I learned/retained SO much more for his class than any other.

As long as you do all of the quizzes and tests, you'll pass. I had a friend who failed despite good test grades because she never completed the six required quiz attempts. Just showing up is pretty adequate.

Great professor, the quizzes helped a ton of course there gonna be memorization based, if you just read a textbook your just practically memorizing and guessing what would be on the test anyways these quizzes were so helpful. Showed really interesting videos and very kind to anyone who would go up to him and ask him anything I noticed

The class is pretty easy to get an A as long as you do all the quizzes on time and don't forget to do the tests. All the quizzes are online and in person is the lecture. He counts participation by using a clicker so try not to skip (or just give your clicker to a friend). The lectures are pretty bs tho eventually no one pays attention.

literally awful lol if youre looking for the worst professor ever, you found it. the work was ridiculous & it was based around memorization which isnt how I want to learn. wanted to bang my head on the table every class. he doesnt help or really know what hes doing either (reads directly off slides)

This class is easy to pass as long as you do the work. There are a lot of online quizzes required, but you are able to take them many times to get an ideal grade. Missing class will not effect your grade, aside from the fact that there are iclicker points. Lectures are long and tiring. This class is easy to pass with an A as long as you do the work

Hodge is a very boring when giving a lecture. I sometimes fell asleep in that class. This class will take up your Saturday's because that is when the online tests are and they take time. He gives you a lot of extra credit, as long as you do each quiz 6 times and get a 100 you will do fine. You need at least 2910 pts to get an A+ and I got over 3000

You will be working every night, but his teaching style is meant to make you learn. Something I didn't learn until half way through the semester: You should go to class for extra credit but you don't need to take notes, just pay attention. All of the material is in the book and you will have to read it anyway.

This intro to Psych class was supposed to be one of my easiest classes this semester, but, Hodge made it a living nightmare. Hodge seems nice in lecture but was extremely rude and condescending when I approached him outside of class. I wouldn't recommend him because chances are he'll make your Psych 105 experience more difficult than it has to be

I took his online class which required me to watch the lectures online and do all of the classwork online. The lectures are super boring. There is a ton of tests are quizzes to get done and you have to take each quiz at least 6 times to get credit. If you don't do the research reports you can still pass with an A.

His class is honestly really easy to pass. Would definitely recommend buying a paper version of the textbook. Bring a tablet to class so you can do the quizzes while he is lecturing. 10/10 recommend going to every lecture, at least once a week he would have like "double point" iClicker questions which really do benefit your grade.
