Comment:

By far the worst professor I've ever had in college. Preaches about turning stuff in on time but doesn't put your grades into black board till the last week of the semester. Re- teaches the same stuff every class so you really don't learn anything new. Grades unreasonably hard. I'll drop out of college before I take him again for any class.

Since going online, I've boosted Dr. Cherry to a 2 out of 5. Not that he's particularly a great professor (or would it be a doctor?), but I'm a terrible student and have basically trolled him with a handful of emails, and anyone who can put up with that and not get angry deserves some credit. I still don't know my grade though. Good guy, though

I didn't really care for his class. I took it in the morning on a T/R class and should've taken it online for the simple fact that I didn't have to face his repetitive nature and the countless times he would go off track. While he is a good professor and means well, he needs to stop and think before continuing, especially towards politics.

I really could have taken this online. He would talk on and off about the subject for an hour and half in a 2 hour class and the last 30 minutes give hour assignment. It was a lot of unnecessary info. I could have saved a lot of time taking it online with a textbook! He also had us buy this textbook that we only used about 4 times in a 5 week class

When I first registered for his class I was skeptic because of his ratings, but if you do the work he really is a great professor. He's understanding when you talk to him and he tells you personal stories to keep lectures interesting. He can be strict, but it helps you a lot. Overall he is a great professor, hard grader but not impossible either.

I think 8 week class is worst to take with professor Dr Grady Cherry he goes to fast and often out of topic you need to have strong English Background to take class with this professor.

Dr. Cherry is a respected man and he even brought Pizza once but he gets off topic often and repeats some of the same things over and over again. I turned an essay (not a very good one but still wanted a grade) with the wrong MLA format he called me out for it in front of the whole class. I dropped that class that same day.

Dr Cherry is serious about row call the first few weeks. He is a very nice man and gives you several opportunities to turn in late work and will go over things several times. If you dont pass his class its your own fault. He does go off topic at times but I thought when he did he was hilarious and enjoyed his stories

Dr. Cherry started our syllabus two weeks late, thus rendering our opportunity to peer review our essays. Ive asked him if were going to peer reviews (x) essay and hed tell me, No, we dont have enough time. Our due dates were crunched in due to his procrastination to start our class assignments. Horrible teacher & grader. DO NO TAKE HIM!!!

Dr. Cherry is funny, knows how to keep good vibes in the classroom... be prepare to write a lot of essays which is the purpose of English 1301(writing)... He makes students work... although he can be real busy and slow in giving grades, his class can be manageable.

Dr. Cherry as a professor is very knowledgeable. You can tell that he cares about his students. However, I believe that he is getting overwhelmed with all of his classes. I have not received any of my assignments back from him except my oral report, which was graded as I gave my report. Don't miss any classes, because he takes attendance seriously.

8 DAYS UNTIL the END of the semester and I only know 3 of my grades! He takes forever to grade papers, OK, I know he has many students, but he should keep up with his work as well as WE, students, DO. He does not accept late work, that is fine, but how about YOU doing YOU WORK ON TIME, DR CHERRY?!! He just hates everyone, do not take his class!

If you have trouble writing papers get help at the writing center. He also gives extra credit for this on each paper. I will admit he is a tough grader on those who struggle with writing. He gives you about 2-3 weeks for each paper. If you don't understand make sure you ask questions he will help you. Dont miss a lot of days or you won't pass.

DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! Dr. Cherry gets off topic a lot and takes about two weeks to explain one assignment. Not to mention how hard of a grader he is, takes 3-4 weeks to actually grade papers, and puts in grades two weeks before the semester is over. He is very unorganized with his lectures and grading!IF YOU WANT A GOOD GRADE DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS!

If you have not started your semester yet, and he is on your schedule, go to the registrar and change it. He has been teaching for 30+ years, yet he is the most unorganized professor I have ever seen. He grades everything by paper meaning he he has no electronic copies of anything. He lost an entire classes essays once.

Okay, he started off nice but when I turned in my research paper he personally bs me about my work and how it was not enough.. I actually have been trying in his class, and he had the guts to basically tell me that my essay was not good enough for him. I never had a problem with him until he personally bs me about my essay.. DO NOT TAKE HIM!
