Took him for Fin 410 and hated it. Lectures were rambled and unrelated to the syllabus. He would say one thing about an assignment and then next week it would be totally different. Test were random questions he made up and showed nothing about what you actually knew. Very smart guy and respected, but a very ineffective professor. Would avoid

Dr. Affaneh is a very smart man. He is very accomplished. I wish I could have taken his course 10 years ago when he was still relevant and connected to his work. His lectures are unprepared and scrambled. His exams do not reflect the material in the same manner you are presented with it. His courses are mandatory for the major. Good Luck.

very nice man... maintained a high B until the 40% final came around, which I failed. I'd look elsewhere for a professor, especially if youre a finance major!

"Question on the Test!" Dr A. is good. 2 homework assignments, moderately hard + extra credit(very hard!)helps. Boring class, no doubt but he teaches well. Answers all questions and moves very slowly. Class avg exam1 grade=64%, exam2 avg grade=50% Final was hard. Go to class EVERY DAY, read the chapter! Participate! He will curve if YOU earn it!

Great proff for such a hard class. Really takes time to help students, and explains things clearly until you get what he's talking about. Read the book and do the extra credit. His tests are fair, but if you don't go to class and study, you're not going to make it.

Good prof for a really hard subject, finance is just plain hard if you ask me! You can understand him pretty well, and he will go at your pace if you dont understand. I wouldnt recommend missing any class though b/c youll get behind. Weekly quizzes... and DO the extra credit, youll need it!

Dr. Affaneh is an excellent professor. He takes take in his office to go thru any material which was unclear during class. He has motivated me to do my best in his class. He called on me to answer questions in class, thankfully, I was prepared.
