I went into her class as a Dual Enrollment student. She wouldn't answer my questions and humiliated and picked on me for being "under aged and not ready for college." I finally had to drop her class. After pulling me out into the hallway, she told me that she wouldn't give me a WP without admitting that I was a horrible listener. Glad she was fired

I truely think you are all giving her a bad rating just because it's a difficult course and you didn't put towards the effort warranted to deserve a good grade. Ms. Yates was a very good teacher and a fair teacher. She enjoys math and would help anyone with questions. She just didn't put up with the students who didn't make an honest effort!

Honestly the worst teacher I have ever had. I sat in the front every day, did my homework, and participated. When you work problems in class, she gives you a second to write it down and expects you to have the answer. In short, you will find she knows her stuff but unless you are self taught i wouldn't take the class. Started with 19, ended with 6.

She is a hard teacher to have and can make some strange comments during the class. But if a student shows that he/she is not there just kill the time and actually works hard, she recognizes it. Always ask questions after the class, she is less of an ass then!

Seriously, the worst 3 months of my life. My best advice? Drop the class like I did. She is a horrible teacher. She has no problem making you look like an ass in front of the entire class. She has no feelings and should not teach at any school.. ever.

A disrespectful human being. The only way to make it through Mrs. Yates' class is to call her on her BS early, and make it well known that you will not be intimidated or disrespected by her. Her teaching methods would be average if her personality weren't horrible, but it's nearly impossible to stomach the two together.

it almost seemed like she just wanted to prove how smart she was instead of teaching us as she scribbled equations on the board and solved them with lighting speed. by the time you had almost got done writing the problem, it was erased and a new one was started. she did not take questions. also she was very rude to all her students. drop her..

If you're taking any of her courses with the expectation of having an easy A, think again. She's no idiot. She knows who's there to learn and who's there to pass. Let her know that you care about her course and prove to her that you're studying. Her tests are hard, but if you study and go to the learning center 2-3 times per week you'll be okay

Ms.Yates is intimidating, overpowering,crass,& rude. She will not answer questions in class (because this prevents her from teaching the lesson), she does not respond to emails, and she prefers to utilize her office hours on her own terms (not to help students).This is not a professor that loves to teach. She seems to hate life in general.Drop her.

Ms. Yates taught to students that were there to learn. A lot of our students during the fall semester of 2010 came to class unprepared and a lack of motivation. I feel prepared for the next level of MAT.

She (or he) is such a terrible person, mean just for fun and loves humiliating people. We had a borderline autistic boy in the class and everyday she made a huge effort to pick on him and embarrass him. will not answer questions, half the time she wont even let you ask one. when I dropped there was a stack 6 inches high of ppl dropping her class

It is unfortunate that a person so knowledgable utilizes intimidation instead of inspiration to teach. I love math and wanted to take this course for fun...I no longer love math. My library of math books are to used to start a bonfire. I do not want to see another math problem for the next 20 years. What a disappointment this class turn out to be.

Yates likes to have control over her class, does not take kindly to remarks about her. She'd rather have a student do a problem 5 times then answer her question. She also give a learning curve so that less people fail her class. Future students, please do not take her insults sitting down.

The most worthless human being i've ever met. Very disrespectful and condescending towards students. Class consists of no teaching, just problems on the board and she doesn't take ?'s during class. Drop the class as soon as possible. Ask anyone who has had her and you will get the same response.

Don't hate her.If you make it past the drop period and actually try to be an attentive and serious student she will not have any problem with you. In fact, if you behave and TRY to learn she will go out of her way to help you. I hate math and have never been good at it but she recognized that I wanted to pass and has been very helpful.

I'm a great math student, however, I had to drop her class because I felt I could no longer restrain myself from using innapropriate language towards her. She comes accross as a miserable person and seems to enjoy making everyone the same around her. Other instructors at the school don't even like her.
